There typically aren't that many channels required at games to necessitate the need for sub tones. Plus there's way to much overlap when the cheapo radios are on sub tones trying to communicate with good radios.
Easier to just keep everyone on the main channel which I why most of us refuse to key up sub tones.
Anyway, programming a radio with the main channels is all you need to do and then keep a small chart with the CTCSS frequencies in your note book or admin panel. The problem with preprograming with CTCSS is when you need to switch channels quickly on the fly.
