Both my Glocks were brand new, the G18c ABS frame, after maybe 1500rnds thru it, didn't show any cracks but the G17, after a couple of test shots (not even a full mags worth), had breaks near the screw hole of the main frame post (+ the cracked magwell). I've changed both with the latest version Guarder polymer lower frames and these things are waaayyy more resistant, you really feel it just holding it. It really is a must on these pistols and you'll never regret it. It's also much closer to the RS.

I still filled the weak point in the trigger gard with epoxy putty (might as well while changing lowers, it is after all more of a design flaw than a problem with the ABS and takes 5min to do) and it should completly resolves any cracking issues you might encounter in the futur. Once filled in, you can tell that part is now rock solid. I have yet to see someone that did this mod have an issue afterwards.

Thats exactly what i did to my guarder frame before i installed it. But the epoxy spelled so bad even when i was outside. Had to wear a mask.
