You have several issues. They can all be solved by contacting a local gun tech and bringing your HK416 to them. The first thing wrong is that you tried to do the work yourself without researching the necessary steps to fitting things together.
In general, your issues range (from what your post sounds like) poorly shimmed (or not at all) gearbox, poor airseal of barrel to hopup, (you did replace the hopup rubber and nub right? right???),poor motor alignment, possible detached or broken selector plate spring or the plate itself, incompatible hopup or improperly assembled/installed, poor gearbox to receiver fitment.
Solution= take it to someone who knows what they're doing and humbly beg them to reassemble it for you.
