Anodizing would be far more preferable, MUCH thinner and much tougher finish!
I wish we had the equipment to do anodizing at work

I've got a hefty skill palette, but powdercoating is incredibly easy. I'm AMAZED some people are incapable of doing it properly, like just amazed. I learned how to powdercoat better than our career painters on dayshift in 2 hours of instruction by our veteran painter on nightshift lol
Most recently I'm trying to get us into liquid nitriding or at the very least, pack carburizing. It would REALLY help with all the dies and custom tooling we make...
And our "engineers" have a retarded affinity for making bending tools out of 1018 carbon steel, pack carburizing is the only way we could get any kind of wear resistance out of them
oh the stories I could tell you about our poorly designed home made dies....
