After being at Tac-11 and talking with Frank from tech direct, and I've been sold on dumping my talkabout for something with a little... nay a lot more power and range.

Would getting a 5 watt VHF/UHF radio, read the Puxing PX-888D be helpful in milsim or skrim environment?

I would get licensed for it as a matter of course but would having something of that power be overkill for larger games? ie Border wars, op Rhino etc?
