I had the same issue with a certain mini battery, would blow the fuse immediately. Turned out when I wired it up with a large connector I accidentally wired it the same as a large battery would have as far as polarity goes, but forgot mini connectors tend to be wired the opposite polarity (as far as connector keying goes).
