Does it only happen on semi when you try to shoot successive shots quickly? Because that could be due to poor trigger pulls. Male sure you pull it all the way back, and hold it until the gun fully cycles. Also, your anti reversal latch could be worn out (spring or the latch itself). I had a similar problem with a dboys aks-74u, it would happen randomly and I would have to punch the grip to unlock it.

What your describing happens when your piston moves back 3/4 of the way, you let go of the trigger, and your motor isn't strong enough to pull it the last 1/4 of the way. That's why when you remove the motor and replace it, the piston moves just enough that your motor can cycle it.


If it's a very loud click it could be due to a poorly assembled trigger switch mech, and the contacts arent lining up. I don't think this is likely because your motor works when you disconnect it from the mechbox.
