To add to that:
MP5 is a good starter gun IF you buy it used from a reputable user. I got an ICS MP5 for my friend. He loves it. The gun was in very good condition and some upgrades where present.
If you really want and SD5 (I personally prefer an SD6), the G&G one is quite decent. Your piston head will explose eventually (they di it because the shape that is given to the head to make it "more" efficient also weakens it way too much. The stock guns will chrony at about 330 fps. If you want to up that to 380 right away, you definitely want to change the piston head at the same time.
MP5 mags are long and slim. Not that much longer than an M4 mag. Best thing to do is to find a vest or rig that can accept double M4 mags with a large, adjustable lip over the pouches or one that is specifically made for MP5. You can easilly fit 3 MP5 mags in theses pouches and keep them secure.
MP5 mags are also really cheap... you can get a box of 10x 78rnd for about 100$.
If you are not sure, you should consider an M4 over it. Easier to find parts. More ways to customize it (yet everyone seems to build the same gun...lol). Easier to find mags on the field (in case you run out).
DON'T buy the G&G Blowback M4s. They really suck. Their regular M4s are quite the normal ones, so it is a good buy.
Same thing, you can get 10 mags for about 100$.
For the vest, almost all vests are build for M4/5.56 mags. Avoid the cheap 60-80$ vests. I got one as a one-day backup plan and ended dumping it and borrowing a drop-leg panel to someone.
Again, it is personal taste over reliability over function. Basically, every AEG will work. The difference is how long, and how do you feel when you use it. I personally can't stand AKs. Feels akward.
If you want to try out a few gun, PM me. I am in Longueuil.
