Nushell, you attach the negative side of the alarm's battery to the correct side of the transitor (simplicity, a transistor is a basic electronic component, consists of three sides, won't get into details right now, but when you apply a small voltage to the middle part of a transistor, it allows electricity to flow from one side of the transistor to the other, aka it acts as an off/on switch), the timer's speaker wire to the middle, and the other side of the transistor to the wire on the alarm that the ground side of the battery used to go to. Basically, you cut the battery ground wire in two, and place the transistor in between. I won't get into the other parts of the circuit, I barely remember it all, I did add other components, but if you don't understand electronics, I'll keep it as simple as possible about how to get it to work. BTW, for your electronics friends, I went with a PNP (Positive/Negative/Positive) transistor to deal with the timer switching the ground side of the speaker.
