1 bungee point sling is the business - easy to drop out from your hand to draw your secondary. But expect your gun to kiss the dirt often if you are fighting over steep terrain and need to be hands free.
Hate 2 point slings with a passion: they're more of a carry sling than a tactical sling.
3 point sling is a good middle point between 1 point slings and 2 point slings.
Pantac makes good slings of all the above.
Most ideal sling for an M4 for me is the Magpul MS2 sling - switch interchangeably betwen 1 point and 2 point. But pricey.
