good BB brands and types

I have my GBB now, and while I will probably get stuff like BB bastards, and I will get a propane adaptor and propane tank for it, I just want to give the gun a try. we have a store around here that sells some airsoft stuff. They do not sell light BB Bastards... the have some .28 and .30... but no .20 / .25. they also have some bioval and some armist. both in .20 and .25

I will use a can of green gas for now, but I will definately get the propane adapter eventually.

the gun is an army armament R27 (1911). I know its not the bes brand around... but anyway. What would you guys suggest me? to order some BB bastards and just wait for them to come in, of to go with either Armist or Bioval? are these any good or will they just damage the gun? Also I hesitate between .20 and .25... I think the é20 will go further and faster, but less accurate, while the .25 will be slightly slower and go a shorter distance, but with more precision... So. what do I take? Bioval(.20/.25), armist(.20/.25/.28), bb bastards(.28/.30), or I order and wait for BB bastards (.20/.25)?

I also had Army MEU, their gun is pretty good for the money. I suggest you use .28 g BB Bastard, They are pretty good and very consistent for the gun that yo have.

I tested the .20 g and .25 g with 10 meters distance, they are not consistent even I aim right on the target then I switch to .28 g and test it again at the same range, oh ! I love .28 g BBs. It almost punch on the same hole on each shot.

You might want to get .30 g to test out as well but I prefer .28g with 2000 rds just only 15 $.

I've used .25 Biovals and they seem to be really good quality and on par in terms of accuracy with any other brand (if not better) plus they are biodegradable so why not fertilize the soil while you airsoft?

Also pick up a bag of .28 bb's as they are supposed to have better accuracy when used with the correct fps and hopup. I haven't actually tried them so i cant really say much on that.

Bastard 0.28g are the best you can get for the money, especially in GBBs.

do a heavier BB put more stress on the gun? I understand they will hit no harder than a lighter one, since they will be slower, it equals to the exact same energy... but is is it harder on the gun? without being a complete dump, I understand my gun don't have the quality and durability of a TM... lol. So I don't want it to fail on me on my first mag... lol.

I also love the biodegradable aspect. I'm not that much of a green person, but if I have the choice... I do prefer the ecological solution... They are a tiny bit more expensive... but hey... instead of 0.475 cent each BB, its 0.625 cent per BB... lol. big deal...

anyway, based on what you guys are saying and on what the guy from the store just told me on the phone, the 3 brands are pretty equivalent... Armist being their private brand they are a bit less expensive... and they have more diffrent weights... So I'll see if I go with .28 Armist or .25 Bioval for the ecological aspect... I know BB bastards also have some eco friendly BBs, but that store doesn't sell them.

No, heavier BBs don't have any effect on the gun itself.

Bio BBs tend to be banned at most fields because they often shatter into dust which has actually gotten into some player's goggles and caused serious irritation to their eyes. I was witness to one. Also, bio BBs tend to have a limited shelf life, often come in a sealed package that expires in a few weeks after opening. Bio BBs are rather like Kraft Cheese Slices that reduce to powder if they hit something hard like plastic.

bioval bbs are very different. they aren't as brittle as other bio bbs, in fact they are as resiliant as their plastic counterpart. also, there is no definative shelflife as long as you store them in a cool, dry and dark place. your closet is fine. air and moisture alone does not cause it to degrade.

This is what I use in my 380 FPS DE, she absolutly loves'em, ask Brakoos' ASS.....LOL

Or ask Raven, I was in the back of a moving pickup and tagged him from about 30-40 feet away, he tagged me too, but he had a sniper rifle :p

BB BASTARDS ARE THE SHIT.....get some

The only problem I've had with Bioval is feeding.
Smack the mag - BB's fly out.
Insert the mag too slow - BB's fly out like mad

Full auto, no go.

BB bastards, no problems at all.

Strange because I have had the time to shoot the standard bioval BB and they are excellent. never had any feed or loading issues at all. The BB's are slightly smaller than other BB brands.

anyway I got some .25 armalists and I must admit I am pretty damn impressed by their accuracy and speed! When I tried an airsoft, I was shooting at a dense forest and didnt really saw the BB... but I shot a half mag now, I tried shooting a sign(about 10'' by 20'') in the park from the inside of my house (about 50-60 ft away), and I hit it with 2 out of every 3 BBs. If you consider I never shot any type of gun whatsoever before apart the time I tried the GBB at the game I assisted to, and the only time I played paintball, I think it is quite good.

The BB flew VERY straight, no drop whatsoever... I'm really impressed!

by the way there was nobody anywhere close to the spot where I was aiming at, don't flame me. it was raining, nobody was outside, and nobody could see me playing with a gun. ;)
