New Velocity Arms Rifles

I was wondering what the new velocity arms guns are like and if anyone would recommend them over a canadian legal G&G GR16??

They're both "Canadian Legal" with tinted/clear lower receivers. It comes down to whether you want G&G or a JG. G&G has good quality (look in the reviews section, some gun docs have opened some and done very in depth reviews) and JG is improving constantly (top of the Chinese clone pile).

All airsoft is "canadian legal" just only clear are import legal. And for the clear lower JGs, there are stories about how you can hit the clear plastic with a hammer and it's 100% invincible.... bullshit.... IMO, G&G is a slightly better choice but if you want a model only JG has your not sacrificing much.

lol you seem to post that a lot but again, technically no*- any gun that is TM for example (or is close enough to real looking to be a replica) is listed as a prohibited weapon (unless you owned it at the time the law changed).

3. Air guns that are replica firearms

These are air guns that are not powerful enough to cause serious injury or death, but that were designed to resemble a real firearm with near precision. Replica firearms, except for replicas of antique firearms, are classified as prohibited devices.

In particular, some air guns that are commonly called air soft guns may fall into this category. These are devices that have a low muzzle velocity and muzzle energy, and that usually discharge projectiles made out of a substance such as plastic or wax rather than metal or lead.

Yes that would be a perfect choice for an eventual loaner/rental gun.

Yes and no... WE are both right, It's VERY convoluted and gray. to put it simple, nobody will get in trouble for buying a black gun unless they use it illegally.

KoolAidMan September 22nd, 2009 22:44

what i realy want is your aug.

all joking aside i might grab one and play this weekends game if at defcon if the weathers good.

Possibly need your aug for rental possibly.

How much is the M4S system? Close to $400? Why don't you just save another hundred instead of buying that and get a full black one? Right now there's CA guns going for only slightly more. A real Sword Type 56 just sold for $100 more than that.

Thenooblord September 22nd, 2009 22:57

the s system is 260

KoolAidMan September 22nd, 2009 22:58

the s system and normal m4 are about 260-270

VA guns have a polycarb body. its VERY durable. there is a video on here of the guy smashing it with a hammer and nothing happened to it. I doubt that could be done with a G&G gun.

Right now around half of all the new VA series are on sale, so you should get them soon!
I wish I could have known about this series before purchasing my gun... :(

I Got The M4s from velocity arms back when he was doing them upgraded to 400 fps, and to this day it has been a great gun for loaning out. Its my brothers gun when he is able to play but a loaner for the rest of the time. Shot over 2000 rounds from it myself and can honestly say that after I painted the lower it was well worth the savings.
