Airsoft Innovation grenade silicone oil !!
 

Hi there,

I have a question regard to the silicone oil from airsoft innovation for the Tornado. I sold all my tornado but still has one bottle of those silicone oil left. So I just wonder if those silicone can be use for other thing like lubing my piston, piston head o-ring, cylinder since right now, for lubing those part, I only using the white lithium. Thanks.

Yeah, it should be good enough for that. As I remember it, it's not too thick.

I wouldn't bother using it for AEG internals. The grease that remains in your mechbox is going to remain there for a long time. Oiling it may actually carry the grease away from the gears/bearing surfaces...and remove a protective layer. With regular maintenance (and I suspect that you're into your mechbox more than once or twice a year :D) you'll never need to worry about lack of lubrication.

Keep it for oiling your pistol (pivoting/moving parts, etc...). It is heavy for oiling GBB mags...I've used it by accident once or twice (not really an accident the 2nd time) and it hasn't hurt anything, but I wouldn't use it regularly.

I got a little plunger thing that I can use to oil a whole can of gas at once (I've used 6 coleman tanks since Jan...:rolleyes:) and have used thicker oiled tanks, just not as much oil as I would if I used lighter weight for pistols, for everything from Tornados to 40mm to smaller grenades to GBBs.

No harm done...but Tornados work better with heavier oil...everything else works better with lighter oil.

Otherwise...just give it to someone you next do a trade/deal with as a freebie extra :D

Printer ink cartridge syringes from refill kits work well to feed the oil through the adapter without needing to take the adapter off the propane tank. They also make oil placement easy when lubing GBB's and AEG. No more mess with errant drips.

The little do-hicky that I use doesn't just put oil into the adapter...it "re-mixes" the oil with the whole tank. So after 4-5 injections of silicone oil into the tank...the whole tank is done forever and never needs to oiling again.

TTAC3 does it for their tanks...way easier to do a couple of tanks all at once and not have to touch oil again until all those tanks run out.

so where does one find these do-hicky's?

It's not a commonly available thing...made, works, never produced for the masses. Not sure how many of them are kicking around even.

It was never publicly produced, due of the number of steps involved to impregnate your tanks with the oil.

AI likes to make things simple for the masses, unfortunately, this one was not one of them. The last thing MadMax needs is a flood of emails from people wondering why oil keeps spraying all over the place...
