Well MB05 upgrade

hey i just got the well-mb05 and i know there is a lot people say i have to mod on it what would you suggest????? im new to higher quality guns

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw April 30th, 2009 15:13

You must be if you are running a Well :D

As far as I know that gun is compatible with most PDI products.

NoGear April 30th, 2009 16:01

they might mean mod as in spending over 500$ to make it sniper worthy but ur might need to MOD the but plate so it fits ur style. word of warning! sniper rifles are a bad FIRST gun to enter the game of airsoft. stock airsoft snipers are just as accurate as stock aeg's. Some players may not like you to use a sniper rifle because of trust issues.
saying that you might wana watch out when hitting or bumping this gun because it looks flimzy but im not sure because i do not own the gun :P if u own the AWM version. If you own the other one then try and find a tight bore to make it more accurater :)

welcome to ASC :)

I own MB05 and in my opinion, it dose not need much investment. I would recommend using Airsoft Elite Precision bbs, cause they are slightly bigger in diameter. Also, the stock barrel spacers are just shit, i used duck tape instead. DO NOT EVEN TUCH your bucking, i ripped my rubber and its impossible to find a replacement bucking.
i'll post some pics soon

I had one before... You need a zero trigger, which you can swap with the stock one when it breaks, which it will, a new hop-up chamber and rubber, new inner barrel, and inner barrel spacers, a new cylinder and cylinder head, a few springs to vary the FPS, a new spring guide as well.
Also, since I have no idea of what the inner barrel length is, I think it's a proprietary length(correct me if I'm wrong), get a thread adaptor, silencer, and an extra long inner barrel.

now im gona go pdi for parts i think but i cant find any that say wellmb05 now can i buy any pdi and it will fit cuz it sounds kinda crazy for that to happen

yuhaoyang April 30th, 2009 22:15

It's a Maruzen clone, so L96 parts will fit. I'm not so sure about hop-up and inner barrel though, so if you buy them, buy both.

Where have you done sniping before?

And just dont have high expectations of using a bolt action rifle in a game if its higher than 350 FPS (in most places) if you have never played before. Alot of those places will require you to have taken and passed the Level II Bolt Action Operator Course in order to prove you are a safe BA Operator. There will only be exceptions made in cases where the person is well known to the community and the majority of people you are playing with. Otherwise you can forget it if you are shooting hotter than 350 FPS.

And anything less than 400 FPS really has no real use, since you are at the same range as AEG's except they fire 60+ rounds by the time you can get your second shot off. If you are new to the sport then get an AEG if you wish to do more than backyard/basement plinking. If thats all you want to do then you have no real reason to upgrade, unless something breaks. Which most if not everything will break with a Well.

Ahh yeah that changes alot then, as our laws here in Canada are alot more stringent. But most of what I said still applies. I guess if you do intend on gaming it, it depends on what the kind of FPS limits the hosts in your area impose thus warranting the cost of making a BA gamable or not.

While these parts listed are indeed good (from what I hear) its always best to try and stick with one manufacturer, if possible. This avoids the hassle of fitment and cross-compatibility issues. When it comes to any Maruzen compatible L96 I find PDI is the best route to take as they make all needed upgrades.
