my new plate carrier
3 Attachment(s)
Just thought I would post this but this weekend I went to visit my uncle while he was on leave from Afghanistan. When I got to his house he gave me this plate carrier vest he bought of two afghan brothers that sell goods they make at the market that they hold at base Kandahar.
I have to say the quality is pretty dam good considering were it was made but anyways here she is and while I'm at it id lie to send a thanks to all the soldiers posted in war zones around the world they are the true heroes among men and as it was once said “Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few” |
Is there any kevlar in it, or a plate?
It look very thin. They make this from scratch? |
kewl vest, looks quite functional

Interesting vest. Those look like AK mag pouches at the front.

THe probably produce these locally and local militias and such probably buy them up too, hence the AK mag pouches. And can accept armour is somehow they managed to get their hands on some plates. Nice though. It's cool to have something that's authentic from over there.

Ya I was quite happy with the build. There are Velcro openings at the bottom that open up to two compartments on is for a plat and the other is for the Kevlar flack padding. At least this is what my uncle told me. And yes the mag pouches are for ak47 mags they even have a fabric divider to let them slide out easier. As I say dam good build considering where it was made as for the, from scratch part not a clue.
