Cleaning kit.

Hi I bought a used G&P m4a1.

Obviously no cleaning kit whit the package.

I have been looking all over the forums and I did not find a good place to buy a cleaning kit for my AEG.

Any places in Canada? Did also look but I only found silicon oil so far.

Thanks.

Silicone oil + the other side of the unjamming rod + cloth to clean your inner barrel

Thats all you really need

just got to a local hobby store and ask for a light silicon oil that is safe to use with plastics and rubber.

And what about the cleaning rod? Caliber I am looking for?

Thanks alot guys. I am fairly new whit all this.

no its all good man, better to teach you proper maintenance habbits since you are new. ive searched a couple stores I always buy from and cant seem to find just a cleaning rod. i will keep my eyes open for you. Maybe try in the parts and accesories since you are verified now.

A standard issue cleaning rod + swabs from a real steel M16 cleaning kit works great for cleaning out aeg barrels.

Would the metal of an issue cleaning rod not scratch the inner?

Ouklae September 17th, 2008 15:15

I would think that as long as you don't use the metal scrapers in the issue cleaning kit, and just use the squab pull through stuff and brush...it shouldn't damage the inner.

Hey flan :)
Any .22 cal cleaning kit with the cloth swabs will work. Turn your hopup all the way off before cleaning and start with one drop of silicon on the swab. I usually start with the single drop and then use only dry patches after that. Depends on how dirty your barrel is. You should clean until the patches come out without debris. After you are done you can put one small drop into the magazine well feed tube. The first shots out of the barrel will be a bit wild because of the silicon but it will work through after 20 or so.

or you can use silicone cloth so all you have 2 do is cut and clean ur barrel normaly any gun cleaning kit should come with some
