mag pouches...
so i finally ditched my wasatch, and am using a CIRAS now. but i have one question...
whats a good way to stretch my mag pouches out? they hold 1 mag fine, but are meant for 2, and to get 2 into them, i have to squeeze it in... which you already know is bad, because its going to be just as hard to get it out. should i just cut the elastic thats sewn around the opening? any decent input is appreciated. |
It's really not as hard to get out as it is to get in, because you're no longer forcing it to open any more than it's willing.
I don't know if it's the proper way to break them in, but I've always simply loaded the pouches up and left them for a couple of nights. Remove and insert mags several times, then leave them in overnight again. Using them on the field also helps. :D |
my mags have been in the pouches for well over 2 weeks. that was my first idea, they would stretch.
and trust me, for some reason, it is JUST as hard to get them out with these pouches. |
Soak the pouches, put your mags in plastic (shopping) bags, and put them into the wet pouches. Use a couple of pieces of cardboard or something similar to shim/wedge the two mags apart, leave it to dry, repeat if necessary.
Alternatively, cut the elastics and always close your pouches after extracting a mag. |
I've had the same problem with some mag shingles. I soaked them in hot water than put the mags in and left them. Worked well for me.
edit: Fuck you beat me to it Groombug |
thanks, ill try this one next.
