CORRECTION spring was a Systema MS120SP not a Prometheus.

Im blown away, as is Illusion(Sold me a lemon u bastard!!) its litterally broke in 3 seperate places, and then coiled itself up... Can anyone venture a guess how the hell this happened cuz I sure dont know.

oh and Shrike.. I guess it wasnt my battery! lmao

holy shiznit! freek accident

what rifle was it in an v2?

TokyoSeven May 25th, 2008 18:46

That spring should be framed with the caption "What the hell?"
I cant even begin to fathom how that could have happened.
However Ive gotta say that is some crazy breakage and coilage going on there, definately one for the books. Any other additional damage to the gun at all?

CDN_Stalker May 25th, 2008 18:47

SR-16, I'd assume so. Lol

TokyoSeven May 25th, 2008 18:48

Wait wait wait! I totally gotta say this.
Does this count as three melded springs?

BAH DUM DUM CHING!
Thank you folks I'll be here all week. Tip your bartender.

bahaha, T7 just made my day!

Closely inspected my gun now, V2 yes, no other damage at all, some scratches inside the piston, but nothing to worry about...

Not a single clue what happened, must have happened yesterday at the game, I was playing, worked great, went in for a break, swapped to my long barrel for a few rounds, and bam, bbs werent going farther then I could throw em, gun still shot, jsut sounded weak and through the bb's spit distance.

One for the books for sure.

Boche May 25th, 2008 18:59

A little bit of JB Weld will fix that right up.

Looks to me like the spring broke and got pushed together when it cranked over. Ive seen stuff like this happen before , usually with high power springs that are really old. The metal just gets fatigued and snaps. The spring then gets pushed together or wrapped in itself.

Pretty much exactly what happened, however it wasnt that old, got it from Illusion last fall..handfull of games.. not a hose whore..

Which brings up the next question!

How old was the spring Renegade? How many rounds through before failure?

EDIT: Never mind you answered the same time I posted!

Styrak May 25th, 2008 19:09

Holy shite.

haha yes.. odd, not a greatly worn used spring, its seen plenty of use, but nothing drastic.

Now the bigger question, could it be my set up.. or just a fluke.

lupo May 25th, 2008 19:19

Thing is though that unless somehow you end up with a spring that has a date stamped on the packaging you never really know how old it is. Ive pulled springs out of the packaging to find out they have a bit of rust on them. I would say systema and pdi are the most likely candidates for something like that happening as they are the oldest upgrade manufacturers around and could have stock lying around for years.
