Maruzen M1100 GBB Stock ver or TM M3 Super 90?
 

Hi i would like some advice, im thinking of getting either the m1100 or the m3 but am still not able to decide which one to get.

For the M1100, i must admit im very into realism and the Maruzen with semi-auto action is a big pull factor, coupled with the fact that with semi auto it can shoot much faster than the M3. Also, I will probably be playing a mix of CQB and open area skirmish so I think this suits me as well as the M3.

But it is twice the m3 price, and its not very powerful, and since there are very limited reviews of the M1100 on the net so Im not able to gather much info on it. BTw anybody knows if it can use TOP gas?

Since this will be my first shotgun, Im also a bit hazy about how the mechanism for the Tm M3 SUper 90 works, is it load 3 shells full of BBs, then pump and shoot, pump and shoot all those 3 shells away one at a time? then reload 3 new shells and repeat the process?

TM shotguns loads 1 shell only, which actually functions like an AEG's mag. It holds 30 BBs, which is enough for 10 shots since each pump of a TM shotty loads 1 BB into each of the 3 barrels.

The M3 has 3 barrels. The shell has 30 BB. For each shell, you can shoot 10 times 3 BB per pull.
Then you manually change the shell. Think of the shell as a magazine instead of a round.
The advantage of the M3 is dependability in any weather.

That takes care of the power issue. You can shoot a full load of 10 bb's without a drop in power.

I would use the M1100 inside so you can get the shells back and keep them out of the mud.

M3 would be better outside because of it mag type shells and accuracy.

You can just use a shell catcher to prevent shells from getting lost. Basically most everything in airsoft is personal preference, try them both and see which one you like best.

I own the M3 as my primary. Great gun, light and easy to get around with it. Though I would love a gas shotgun like MadMax's

I'll put a reccomendation in for the M3 too. I've been playing for just over a year, and have used mine as a primary for about 80% of that time.
For CQB, it's my favourite weapon I've used, and deadly accurate within around 30ft.
For outdoors skirmishes, it's excellent as well, with about the range of a stock AEG, thougth you will find yourself outgunned by upgraded AEGs.
I don't recall, but if the M1100 is the one that you can load between 1 and 10 bbs into each shell and it fires a shell at a time (more realistically), then I wouldn't reccomend it unless you plan to have a shell bag on the side to keep from losing your shells. Even then, I don't believe it has good range for outdoors games at all, unless the field you'll be playing at has pretty tight cover.
Basically the M1100 is more like a shotgun; the M3 acts more like a bolt action carbine, the grouping is tight, and it's quite accurate, with a slower rate of fire (which is more practical for airsoft, but not as realistic).

Why not get the best of both worlds and get a Marushin M500?

thanks for all the inputs. for the marushin m500 i rather not start getting 8mm BBs just for it, not to metion the higher cost, although it does look impressive, the M3's power combined with the M1100's semi auto action.

Anybody who owns the m1100 here care to share? Or is it that uncommon as i think it is. Are there are market upgrades for it specfically to increase its power?

there are 2 or 3 variants that are not shell ejecting

And just so you know, although they're now slightly more difficult to locate, there are 6mm Marushin M500s...and boy are they sweet!

The m1100 "Majazine-type" uses no shells, but rather an internal mag. However, Sundown used to have on of these and had constant problems with the piston head going to shit, and can't find replacement parts. It's been a wicked-looking wall hangar for 2+ years.
