Help with G&G M4/TR16 (Max?)

Hey everyone,

[Scroll down for TLDR]

A year ago I purchased a G&G TR16 MAX from BuyAirsoft (not a good decision, I now know). Anyways, I opened it up and replaced the M140 (or so they said...) with a supplied M100 spring for the purposes of indoor play.

While separating the upper reciever, the dust cover detached which I did not notice right away. After several attempts at trying to separate them, I finally noticed the cover was off and hitting the big nail.

TLDR; after the change was made, I noticed that the dust cover wasn't properly attached on the left-end. See the attached image. Any ideas on how to fix it? Also, I couldn't get the semi/safe/auto indicator to match up. I tried a lot but just couldn't do it. Finally, the picture of the handguard is to show that one of the flexible, spring-like rings that are meant to hold the handguard in place broke... any idea on how to fix that, lol?

Funny story, I have yet to go to a single game

EDIT: don't know why but the pictures didn't attach, will upload them somewhere else.

The misaligned indicator is normal, they're just not that great. Most guns don't even have that feature. You can try to align it by taking out the mechbox and putting it back in, but it's never going to be that good.

As for the handguard issue, not sure what you mean. do you mean the spring under the delta ring broke? Yes you can get new spring rings.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I never knew they were called spring rings lol. I'm thinking of putting up a rail-like handguard, but they're so darn expensive. I have yet to be age verified but I was wondering as to what the average cost is for 10" rails. It just doesn't make much sense to drop $100 on rails :S

The selector issue is the dummy plug for right side isn't in place where you want it. It doesn't turn. To fix pull gearbox, out punch it in and press it back where you want it to be (or just black sharpie over the white mark)

The dust cover pin doesn't seem out of place. If the pin is through both sides of the upper receiver mounts, it's where it's suppose to be. The extra coming out the front end is suppose to be blocked from extra forward travel by the barrel nut

Wrong, on the G&G Toptechs it's functional (sort of)

Well I'm not sure what they're ACTUALLY called. But if you're putting a rail system on you don't need to worry about them (the delta ring gets taken off and you use a new included barrel nut)

Oh... I didn't get it was a toptech. All the max ones I've seen are just like every other g&g gr series ones I've seen. All dummy plugs on right side.
