Question about a radio connector
 

Turns out the quietpro had an external PTT port this whole time *mind blown*
Anyway, what freaking connector IS IT??
Looks to be M5x0.8 thread, single pin

You 100% certain that's for a PTT? That looks like an antenna connector (a car radio antenna if it is M5x0.8... maybe for an external roof antenna).

PTT is usually inline with your headset.

I shorted it, the radio transmits and one earbud goes deaf (which is how it's supposed to work when the PTT is pushed)

It's for a remote PTT.
