Hi-Capa issues

So about 4 years ago I purchased a Hi-Capa, KJW I believe but was told it was mostly TM inside.

It was gamed, shit happened, parts got lost.

Now I am missing one the ambi safety switches on the back of the pistol (I will have a picture later). My hopup is the biggest concern. Currently I cannot get the slide stop back in. It appears that the hopup is blocking it.

This is what my hopup looks like:

I am missing a screw and the small black plastic piece that locks the hopup into the outer barrel. What are my options? Do I just buy that hopup from evike or is there something else I can do?

Don't bother buying from evike cause its a complete rip off.

Any Hi-Capa hop-up would work on your gun.

Take a look at the alternative Chinese retailers, AIP hop-up unit is very good for its money.

And that hopup is complete?

According to this:

http://www.greekairsoft.gr/manuals/m...1+Manual%2Epdf

I am missing one of each, 32, 45, 71, 72

45 doesn't greatly affect how the gun functions of course. I am just looking for crucial parts to get the gun atleast firing. Then I can decide if I want to continue fixing it or scrap it.

Yeah that hop-up is 100% compatible. It's for both Marui and WE Hi-Capa's.

It comes with the parts you are missing also. 71/72 is not needed the hop-up system to be honest, it's a design flaw from WE. Marui Hop-up's don't have that.

I've got part 45 if you want, I have it in black it was removed off a WE.

I figured out my issue. Apparently the screws that where in the hop up where too big and rounded. This cause pressure between the hopup and frame. I will be visiting my local hobby shop to see if they have some screws for this

So update:

I got my hands on some machine screws. Unfortunately the pitch of the threads was off. I went to a fastener store and although they had almost everything they said these screws would be next to impossible to source.

I tried the machine screws. Everything went great for the first little bit. I shortened them slightly to fit the hopup. It was during assembly that the head of the screw decided it no longer wanted to cooperate and sheered clean off, leaving me with a fucked up hop up.

That's what happens when you play around with shitty pot metal parts from WE...

Actually they where machine screws from PM Hobbycraft in Calgary. The screws they offered me originally where 2.50$ a piece .45 extreme screws that didn't match or fit at all lol.

Oh shit, I read wrong. You wanted the new screws to put the hop-up back together and the head stripped LOL. Wow. Drill it out carefully?

naminator December 12th, 2014 13:40

The head didn't strip. Then head separated from the crew. I source a hopup for 15$ (it is a shitty WE hopup but oh well) that has the hardware and is brand new. Instead of trying to drill out the very small screw and hole I am just putting the old unit in storage for parts. I might drill it out and mount my short barrel in it for quick swaps but that's about it.

I think you replace the TM original one is the best.
