G&G TR4 CQB-H Upgrade Compatibility?
Hey all,
Been a member on this forum for a while, but yesterday I got my first rifle. I had had pistols in the past, most notably a Western Arms SCW3 1911, but I couldn't really afford anything more until now. Yesterday, I purchased a previously enjoyed G&G TR4 CQB-H off a friend of mine, with a multitude of accessories and upgrades, and ended up paying less than half of what it's all worth, so I was pretty happy about that purchase. Here's it, along with all the accessories I got with it, in the case I picked up from Canadian Tire: http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/...psf05d6e37.jpg I like it, but I was wondering about parts compatibility - what furniture and what internals can I use for this rifle? I wanted to get a Magpul PTS MOE furniture kit for it and go from there first, but there aren't any online that list as G&G compatible. Same with internals - I can't really find anything G&G compatible, at least as listed online. Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm new to rifles. Thanks to all that can help. |
Yep, a the Moe handguard should fit right on that delta ring. You'll need a new buffer tube for the stock, obviously.

Just remember that G&Gs, like most guns out there, are TM clones, so most of the time if parts say TM compatible, your good to go

Also I wanted to ask, since my magazines are Classic Army, should any Classic Army-compatible mags work? I wouldn't mind getting some PMAGs or EMAGs to finish it off once I end up getting MOE furniture.

Yep, should be good to go.
Is your gun a Toptech? If so, you may run into some internal proprietary parts, but externally it'll be like any other gun. |

Top Techs r very mag fussy. King Arms work in them nicely. G&P and P Magz do not work very well. Not sure about CA mags. I have the same gun but the S version.

The Top Tech series is finely upgraded as it is. Its got heavier wiring (lipi ready 7.4 only) comes stock with a 6.03 tbb, m 115-120 spring, the famous G&G green bucking, steel gears and bearings. Its meant to be a cqb gun not a field rifle. I wouldnt upgrade the spring as the housing that surrounds the G&G gear boxs are the weakest of all the guns ive seen and break easily with more force knocking back and fourth. Bigger spring = broken gearbox housing. Keep it a cqb gun. It fuctions amazing just as it is :)

CQB gun with an M120?
No. |
Sorry let me reword that sentence. Most G&G guns depending on the type of gun come stock with either a 110, 115, 120 spring. My G&G TR 4 CQBS is hovering around 355 fps. Most likely a m110 spring.
