M4 S-Systems. DBoy or JG?

I have been looking at both companies guns, and I was wondering if anyone knew which one was 'better'. In a sense of overall body strength, internal longevity, ease of upgrades and all that.

Honestly, both are kinda shitty.

JG is plastic with the old 'tabbed' (And split) receiver design. External Propriety out of the wazoo.

The Dboys is all metal with an actual CSAV... But Dboys quality inside and out is shoddy as can be.

Save up for something better or in a different style, you'll be hard pressed finding an S-system that will last.

Well, based on the money I have for airsoft, and my own personal preference for weapon systems, I am between these three guns:

The third gun you linked is an HK416, not an S-System.

Madrigal April 15th, 2013 13:27

I am aware. It is my only other alternative that I really liked, in the same price range

The S-System has a horrendous battery compartment. I'd stay away from that.

Madrigal April 15th, 2013 13:39

Hmm :/ Any alternative suggestions?

Kings Arm M4, full metal $260, no battery, no charger
worth the extra money

That would rack up the costs pretty fast, seeing as how I personally would have to replace the handguard with a RIS style one, and get a good battery.

BennyBoy April 15th, 2013 14:08

Why do you need to change the handguard? If you can't afford a good rifle how would you be able to accessorize it? It you switch to RIS style handguard and it's not the ones with large compartments for batteries, you'll have to get a crane stock or a PEQ box.
Batteries aren't all that expensive and most people just throw the stock battery in their parts bin anyways.
This rifle has nice metal body and quite decent internals, I'd suggest running a rifle without accessories and throw them on as you get more experience. Many will tell you of the boat loads of accessories they bought for their rifle but end up not using it cause they're useless.

Madrigal April 15th, 2013 14:11

Whenever I hold an M4, I almost always feel more comfortable holding it by a foregrip. Something about the default M4 handguard is just off to me. The rest of the weapon I love, but I always need a RIS+Foregrip system :/

Strelok April 15th, 2013 14:25

There is a funny thing about airsoft.

When you cheap out on your rifle, you will likely end up putting much much more money into it than you would expect. Dboys and even JG have internals that are prone to being problematic out of the box due to their lower quality margin. Its just not something you'll want out of a gun you plan on spending $200 and $200 only on.

Save up your coins for something better. the KA shown above is certainly worth it. And if you are dead set on getting a foregrip, there are rail and grip options that fix to the stock handguards on an M4.

Madrigal April 15th, 2013 14:29

Everything I have read in reviews about Dboys newer stuff has been good, but I guess I will follow the advice here and grab the KA. Thanks.

BennyBoy April 15th, 2013 14:38

Eye protection and your main rifle you should never cheap out on ;)
The RIS can be added later, get yourself AVed at TA and lot of people selling goodies on the Classified, see a few RIS and hand grips too.

Ares isn't bad either, has some proprietary parts but the quick change spring is pretty sexy.

I have a Ares M4 and Dboys RDW sitting in my closet collecting dust =D

Madrigal April 15th, 2013 14:42

Well, this rifle is for my field kit :P I already have a pretty good indoor CQB kit. VA36 (v1), a tac vest, revision goggles and a KJW KP-07.
