Compatibility of version 7 g/b in Cyma M14 EBR

In the very near future, I will come into the possession of a Cyma M14 EBR (modelled after the Mk. 14 Mod 1 with crane stock) and I am curious if version 7 gearboxes that fit M14's with a full stock such as the Cyma regular length and SOCOM length M14's will fit into the the Cyma EBR?

I have never owned an M14 before so I'm assuming the motor and motor cage usually fits into the full stock of an M14. Unfortunately, it seems as if the motor of the EBR fits into pistol grip. Speculating from the angle of how the motor is attached to the gearbox in a version seven, standard version seven drop-in gearboxes don't seem to work.

And also, is the Cyma M14 EBR cloned from the G&G EBR? Aside from the different stocks. I'm speculating not, based upon the different battery storage positions.

If anyone could lend me their knowledge in this matter, please, help me out.

CYMA guns in general are just Marui clones. This one is no exception. It is not modelled after the G&G version. The gearbox and motor cage are the same. The motor does not stick out as much as you think it does, and there's no way a motor cage would fit inside that pistol grip.

This is not completely true. A lot of their ak variants are of unique construction or VFC design.

Half of the CYMA AK's are VFC/LCT style while others are TM style.

As for the CYMA M14, generally TM compatible but I've heard of people having trouble with installing FTK's (namely the Guarder FTK) into the CYMA M14. This is because of loose tolerances and it being a clone. You can still install an FTK but be prepared for lots of modification.

Note that TM, G&P, and CYMA/Echo1 M14 are TM compatible, G&G just went off and did their own thing.

Be aware that while G&P and Cyma are both version 7 design, i found the G&P to have subtle differences in the piston/spring guide assembly that made parts swapping cross compatibility a no-go. It's been a while since i looked into it, and i'm hardly a pro by any means, but when i bought a CYMA parts M14 to repair a G&P M14 DMR gearbox, it was a non-starter. One, or the other, is off-spec from TM.

It's still in pieces awaiting inspiration, for that reason.

As for the OP's original question, pestobanana is correct.

Poor wording on my part, I meant in general CYMA clones Maruis, this one is a Marui clone.

Actually I'm pretty sure the G&G M14 came before the Marui. Of all the other M14's out there only CA decided to go with the G&G design, which in my opinion is the better one.

As for the compatibility, if there is a mismatch I'm inclined to think it's G&P, because the guys at challenger airsoft told me the G&P uses different mags, although what they told me could be untrue, so don't take my word for it.

No mag cross compatibility issues - both CYMA and G&P can be selectively finicky for some reason for certain mag brands - or so i've heard. Both are generally TM mag compatible. I've so far had good luck with the various mag types that i've got (5 total), both the hi-cap winding, and mid-cap types with the three M14's that i've gone through (1 CYMA, 1 CYMA/AGM mongrel, 1 G&P).
