Hot Weather Balaclava

DS tactical has informed me that Under Armour production is in transition and as such an indefinate delay is keeping this reasonably priced product (in OD) out of my gear-loving hands.

Now, I can't find it anywhere online!

I need help finding alternatives.

Their retail site doesn't have it in stock, though.

I'd consider buying a Pantac/Phantom/similar equivalent but it has to be two parts as opposed to the usual one.

Anyone got ideas? Links?

Except for the colour, there's no difference between that balaclava and any of the ones made for snowmobile riders. If you're not hung up on the colour, just get a black one from any sled dealer in your area. Marks Work Warehouse will have them too.

Basic-Wedge, you couldn't be more wrong.

The best hot weather balaclava:

Outdoor Research FR Ninja Balaclava HE

The Cool Knit fabric is a very lightweight and can be worn a variety of ways. It's lighter weight than the other nomex balaclav and also the best fitting. Instead of a flat pattern sewn together in the middle, it's shaped to the head with six separate panels sewn together with flat seams. The cut, combined with the stretch nomex makes it conform better to the head and neck than any other design - a 'true' 3-D cut for the head. The bib has ample material for tucking into the collar.

That also discribes a good quality sledder's balaclava. Sledder's need light, quick drying fabrics and flat seams under their helmets. I don't care if you believe it, but what you're looking at there is the same thing - in a tacticool colour. Buy whatever you prefer.

Hey Milan, where should I buy that thing? Also, at $50, I am a bit reluctant - especially since it's one piece vs. my preferred two.

(Checking various sources but I am sure someone has a great source for OR stuff.)

$50 and you're only a "bit reluctant"???

Nevermind... I've tried to help. Out!

I have an under armour tan heatgear balaclava for summer. I'm sure they're around somewhere.

sorry taliban gotta disagree. ive had the OR version and its not as versatile as the UA i have now. (hot and cold versions actually) same comfort really i never really noticed the difference in fit. just the flexibility
