WE G36C safety knob

Hey guys!
I recently bought a WE G36C. what a beast! i just need a bit of help from the experts in this forum. I noticed that sometimes, i can not fully engage my safety switch; it just stays between safety and semi. If i pull the trigger, the knob will turn into semi.
Also i had time to disassemble my g36 and noticed that it is really hard to turn the big black nut?? that holds the barrel to the gun. how did u guys remove it?
one more question. What kind of Oil/grease you use? i have one of thos silicone oil from airsoft innovation and white lithium grease. Atm, the gun is nicely greased but in the future, i would need to re-lube/grease/oil it. Thanks!

Ice

I'm not sure how the G36's are, but with armalites you can only put them into safe if the gun is cocked.

yeah, the g36 only goes into safe if the gun is cocked.

i think there are some threads around the forum with detailed maintenance guides... have a look around...they will tell you what to use

WE uses a AR style trigger system in all the GBB, thus it cannot go on safe unless it's cocked. the Real H&K Firearm can go on safe with hammer dropped.

Also, does the bolt catch work if i don't have the magazine inserted?
Sometimes it catches the bolt when i pull the charging handle but sometimes it wont =\ is it just me?

Since M14, WE has a bolt release, but not a catch.

You have to stick your hand into the magwell its the center rear area (like the magazine) push up and hold bolt back to lock it back.

The release button was originally a Bolt Catch on the H&K

To put the gun on safety you have to pull back the charging handle (as mentioned above). As for removing the barrel use a alan key/hex wrench to unscrew the giant nut around the barrel.

For oil I use the same as my RS, just check it's a plastic/polymer friendly.
Nowadays they usually are but it's safer to check. The mention is usually on the back label.

The massive retaining nut that holds the outer barrel into the body of the gun can be removed using a flat head screw driver as a lever. Be careful how much force is applied and use a controlled and rounded motion to turn the nut clockwise to remove. It's a snap to remove after you break it loose.

MAKE SURE THAT IT IS RUBBER SAFE.

I'm not sure why there's this big trend of using real gun oils on GBBR's... just because they're more realistic doesn't mean you use the same lubricants.

Real firearms don't have rubber compnants in them. What's safe for plastic may not be safe for rubber.
