Imported reciver parts?

I know imported reciver parts would be conviscated by customs unless you are age verified but would the conviscate a plastic lower reciver oh and does airsoft gi ship to canada?.

The Age Verified portion is something that is specifically enforced by Airsoft Canada. It has nothing to do with the CBSA or their policies.

Plastic or Metal, they'll still take it.

Airsoft GI ships to Canada, although they use UPS shipping so watch out.

Even I can't order receivers without them being confiscated. AV is only an internal policy on this site and not law.

Secondly, plastic or metal they'll still get confiscated.

Finally, yes they do ship to Canada but it's not their problem if you get your shit seized. I think, once they've shipped it, they've fulfilled their obligation to the buyer and anything that happens after that (ie. Border Services seizure) is the customers problem (although with insurance claims for lost/damaged packages and stuff they'll probably help you out).

it's better to be safe than sorry. if you don't want to be blacklisted for life then DON't DO IT!

Direct from the FAQ - Importing Airsoft and You

FYI it makes no difference what it's made out of, it's what it is that CBSA looks for.

no, you CANNOT IMPORT RESTRICTED items
when you are caught you get black listed
where everything you oder from here on in gets opened held and scrutinized by the CBSA

L473ncy October 11th, 2010 15:25

How can you not recgonize it's a restricted or prohibited gun part?

SERIOUSLY. It's pretty obvious what a receiver is. The CBSA is NOT THAT STUPID THEY KNOW. Hell there's even members here who probably work for them. Not only that, I'm sure the CBSA and other agencies monitor this forum.

-=ArchAngel=- October 11th, 2010 20:00

WTF needs full black receIverS when you can get AWESOME CLEAR RECEIVERS FTW!! EVERYTHING IS BETTER WHEN U CAN SEE THRU IT! AM I RIGHT!!??

But in all seriousness, i recommend you not do it. It'll just be a waste of time and effort. CBSA does in fact closely monitor what comes into Canada and if they find anything that looks even remotely like a receiver, they'll probably keep it for a while for further examination.
It however is your money so do what you want with it =)

Packages arriving at the postal service from destinations overseas are, IIRC, scanned by a computer/Xray machine that is programmed to recognize specific shapes....like butterfly knives...or firearms receivers. Essentially, you're assuming you can "beat" this computer at a game it's programmed to win.

Good luck with that.

and if the package is suspicious, the officers open it, so unless they dont know what a gun looks like....

What, do you think they're stupid or something?

It's what these people DO, every day.

Its highly unlikely that they will mistake a restricted item for anything else other than a restricted item.

CBSA agents are not merely mindless drones like the ones you encounter working at your corner convenience store or fast food restaurant. They are trained personnel whose jobs are to inspecting incoming parcels and upholds the laws the exist. They have the necessary training and equipment and if all else fails they are not idiots, they will consult another coworker if they are unsure of something.

Lets use a gigantic bag of cocaine for example.

The inspecting agent sees that the package is labeled "icing sugar". She opens the package and discovers that this white substance does not have the consistency of icing sugar. Well shes definitely not going to just say "whatever" and let the item go. She will most definitely consult another coworker and a superior to have the substance tested.

Please feel free to play the "what if" game until you are blue in the face.
When you are ready to return to reality; the members of this website maybe able to assist you with any other questions you may have.

So that's why my 12KG bag of icing sugar was confiscated...
