PDI Spring?
4 Attachment(s)
Hey all,
Just got my PDI spring today in the mail. It is a PDI 190% spring. On the website, it looked like this: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/pdi-190-u...ude-psg-1.html Mine looks like this (pic bellow). It seems like mine is linear, and the one in the product picture is non-linear. Will I get the same consistency from a linear spring? What would be better a non-linear or linear? (sorry for the bad picture quality, shit camera) |
PDI springs are shitty, dunno what to tell you
|
I am running PDI springs and so are a bunch of other people that play with me, they all are constistant and pretty much hit the same fps between guns *other things of course come into play*
One question though, why such a heavy spring, 190% is gonna fricking hurt. the 150% puts out 390fps on .20g btw the spring should become more like the picture when compressed. when you put it into the mech box take note, it should do that... |
from what I've seen, multiple PDI springs of the same rating have been made in different lengths and giving different FPS
|
Okay, thanks. I got a big spring because i was running a m125 before. My m125 got all warped and shit.

I've had a few PDI 150% springs in my hands over the years, the first was 350fps in my MP5, others went all the way up to 425fps. Different lengths (I was the one that sorted that out) and materials, as in thinner brownish wire on the 350fps one at 6 3/8" long, and thicker black wire up to 7" long for another. The rest fell in between the two.

PDI 190 is advertised on Ehobby as putting out a max FPS of 410? I don't think so. Like Stalker said the 150% that is shorter and brownish was putting out 350-360 FPS and the black I've chronied at around 415 FPS. There is nothing wrong with PDI springs, they last and are consistant, you just take a gamble on what you will get in the PDI package. I still think a 190% spring will be give you an insanely high FPS |
Thanks for the back up info Deeds. I will say I've found 170% springs to be softer, easier to install in mechboxes, and the experiences I had with Apoc's guns (M16 types) he'd get around 390fps with that spring.

Thanks for all of the info everyone! Didnt know this.... Can i Just clip a bit of the spring off?
