I am curious of this as well.. maybe not COMOX (you may have to travel for games) but are there any/many decent fields on the island in general?

taren4295 April 23rd, 2010 16:27

I know the South Island Rangers have a field on the mallahat (probably spelled wrong). Not too sure what else is going on on the island....

Reckless April 23rd, 2010 22:34

there are 3 groups that I know of on the Island...

South Island rangers - based out of Victoria we play on top of the malahat

Central Island Airsoft - based Nanaimo/duncan area, they have 2 fields they bounce from .. but they seem to mainly use a field in Duncan

there is another group out in Uculet/Tofino area ... but I haven't had a chance to talk with any of them... or where they play

Ok... guys.. We game every couple of weeks between nanaimo and Cowichan Valley (3-4 fields)... next game is Supernatural paintball in nanaimo on May first... Games are posted here at the CIA website

http://www.canadianservers.com/cia/v...e88b109cae2793

as well as an active group on facebook. Here's this games event on facebook

If you want facebook notifications of games just write on the wall and I'll add you to the list

We have a couple of people that drive down from courtney so there may be carpool options

Groups on the Island:

1) South Island Rangers: play on wildlife conservatory on the malahat, but I dont know if they are even active anymore as their site is down and no contact with anyone

2) Central Island Airsoft (http://www.vancouverislandairsoft.com): Based mostly out of Nanaimo but plays in both Duncan and Nanaimo. On of the older groups and fairly active.

3) Northern Arms Airsoft (Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=55886531979): younger group but most active on the island. They arrange most games now a days (well, I do most of the organizing) and are located in Duncan and have their own private field (with a washroom)

4) Lower Island Airsoft: Victoria Group that mostly has been adopted into Northern Arms as a natural progression.. not sure that you can say it exists anymore but all the members are members of Northern arms as well

5) Ucluelet: Ukee Guys or Section 8 (http://section8airsoft.myfanforum.org/) Ucluelet based and very active as well.. they end up joining us for our games here around cowichan valley/nanaimo but I know we're gonna be going up there as well.

We have about 50-60 active (regular) players in these groups and we mostly all play together cuse... well, why not. For more info please feel free to PM me as I'm in contact with all of these except the South Island Rangers

SIR stays mainly on the BCAC forums ... www.bcairsoft.com ... but we are around here... there is a thread in the BC section on the forums here ... unfortunately we've been lax on keeping it updated as too our games

but yeah SIR is still very much active.

oh yeah... and I can't view the Northern Arms facebook group... (or seem to find it in a search) ... is it a special invite? my skills are with tinkering with guns and creating stuff... I R noob at best with web navigation LOL...

EDIT: .. nevermind, I forced my way through the evil interwebz, beat facebook with a big stick... and found em

Ehkart April 24th, 2010 22:03

maybe the SIR guys should come out and play a few games with us? eh? Cool? :)

Reckless April 24th, 2010 22:21

I dunno about the rest of the SIR players... but there are 3-5 of us from Ladysmith here that might be able to hit a few games with you guys ... you guys ever run Saturday evenings/night... sundays? ...

Never done a Saturday night game.. but with summer... I dont see why not. Sunday games have been done, Havent had any recently but they do come up.

I know with the Ukee guys we are looking at using a private island off of clayquot sound (excuse the spelling) to do a saturday/sunday game (saturday night camping there) later in the summer. There are a lot of plans we may see come together this summer.

How many guys are there for SIR?
