RK104 scope

Hey guys,

Just wondering, what would look cooler and be more useful between a chinese copy SVD 4x26 scope like this one, or an RPG-7 4X scope on a RK104 ?

I like the SVD scope a lot, but the RPG scope looks so authentic and is cheaper...both have 4x magnification I suppose. Plus i've never seen an rpg scope on an ak, could be cool.

Conscript November 25th, 2008 23:06

The SVD scope won't work since the RK104 uses the AK mount, and the RPG scope is well... for RPG's.

If you are looking for an authentic scope to fit on your AK, I have a BNIB POSP 6x24 in the classified's I can sell you for $200 shipped.

PM me for info.

If i may, first never put an RPG scope on an AK. First it doesnt work. Second the optics werent made for a fully automatic rifle but for a rocket.

Out of those two the SVD scope would be a preferred choice IMO.

However if you really want a good scope for your RK104 id suggest getting a KOBRA red dot sight. Its what the Russians use. Its a bit more expensive (I think around 200) but it does look very sexy and is practical. As 4x scope is a bit much for airsoft, especially if you are using an RK104, which is like a carbine AK.

The RPG scope does fit on the AK since an RPG has an AK mount. It will work, it will just look really really stupid.

To me it seems a bit too complex to be working out in mid game.

SVD reticle:

Much easier to use.

Okay...the RPG thing was just a thought...since its smaller than an SVD scope so its kind of like a Kobra (kind of!) and I dont have 200 bucks to drop on an authentic Kobra.

Wait a second though, shouldn't the SVD scope fit on the RK? since the svd scope is made for airsoft SVD's which probably use AK rails.

If not, that one might not but theres another one that is sold on E-hobby asia that looks like the QD attachment is made for the AK. (http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessori...6-svd-red.html)

I dont see why the plates would be different....

oh and the site does say "AK svd scope" ... emphasis on the ak part?

If both dont fit...anyone know where I could get an SVD mounting plate to replace the AK one ?

Conscript November 25th, 2008 23:37

*sigh* When will AK noobs ever learn.

im no expert on ak's but would this possibly work for you?

http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/detail.aspx?ID=566

its a tiny bit pricy but if it works why not?

Buy the sight that Conscript is selling.

It's your best bet in this situation.

Also conscript get some damn Kobras.

Drake November 26th, 2008 06:45

Or if the RK104's mount plate is removable, swap mount plates (I think the SVD's is a bit longer, you may have to drill new holes: don't do this if you aren't comfortable with that)

Combine November 26th, 2008 07:38

I doubt I would have to drill new holes, they probably go in the same ones.

But I don't know where you can find an SVD mounting plate...maybe ebay.

Kobra

I think it was Ebaybanned that was getting Kobra replicas. Sometime before Dec. 5th if I remember correctly and around $105-115 USD.

Second mount will fit AK rail as well. That's exactly what I have. You have to compare insides, not outsides.

Combine, I'd get an RDS instead of PSO scope. I have mil version of PSO, it looks cool and everything but Korba is way better for airsoft. PSO is great for spotting but when it comes to target acquisition time Korba is better hands down and since our ranges are slightly different from r/s I think RDS is better way to go.

Combine November 26th, 2008 15:44

Yes but isn't a Kobra just a red dot aimpoint? with 1x magnification?

I'm looking for a scope, and 4x is pretty small...my other scope has 9x32.

I know the AK104 is an assault rifle so I don't need 9X.

Are you absolutely sure that those SVD scopes will fit the rail on the Rk104? It make sense that you should compare insides and not outsides, but none of the photo's show the inside of the scope attachment.

The best-optics russian scope website has a bunch of scopes that fit both Ak and Svd rails, I bet you these airsoft versions are made like that since there are more AK's in airsoft than SVD's

666 November 26th, 2008 17:21

If scope is made specifically for an SVD mount than it probably won't fit an AK rail. I had a chance to play with spring SVD not long ago, mount on that thing was different than mount on my AK. PSO Conscript has for sale has AK style mount according to him. Like I said, it's irrelevant how mount looks on the outside, but insides do have differences. Those two pics show difference between new version (top pic), and old school mil version (bottom pic). I have 4x PSO, in my opinion 1x Kobra RDS is better for airsoft, but that just an opinion based on my own experience.
