Finally recieved my camera and I took a few test shots. Here is a picture of my JAC AR18. The pictures are pretty simple as I am still getting use to the settings. The rest are in my photobucket http://s314.photobucket.com/albums/l...ee/JAC%20AR18/

mcguyver July 7th, 2008 01:52

Yannos July 7th, 2008 01:56

its weird, its like a mix of guns. This looks like they put 5 gun together and that's what it made. But i like it. But i wont buy one :P

Bowers July 7th, 2008 01:58

The bastardized child of an M16VN with the Type 89 I'd guess.

Still good :d

mcguyver July 7th, 2008 02:02

That's based on a real gun guys. It was originally built in the 1960s by Armalite. They made a few of them, and the AR-180 was available in Canada for some time. There are a few of them floating around out there.

This isn't a made-up gun.

he's right, just watch terminator part one

Armalite rifle please skew the aim
Armalite rifle use it everyday
The rifle does harm it shoots for miles
If a bullet gets you in the heart destroys your insides

Fly 9 July 7th, 2008 02:09

Actually the IRA was a huge fan of this gun. Dunno why that group was particularly, Armalite must have had a good sale one them or something as they didn't last too long. It didn't take off so they scrapped it.
I really like this gun actually, I like the FAL look it has, along with the folding solid stock (as opposed to the skeleton or telescopic stocks)

AngelusNex July 7th, 2008 08:51

I was just about ask if it's real when I noticed the gas tube coming out of the pistol grip.

Crunchmeister July 7th, 2008 08:57

I'll give this a big thumbs up for originality, but I don't care much for the looks. Very, very unique piece though.

MestHead July 7th, 2008 11:06

It looks like an M16 and an FN FAL got drunk and did it.

Actually, that's a pretty good description, I think...

ColtFarmer July 7th, 2008 11:39

the gun was meant to be a low cost version of the M16 for developing countries, it never took off cause it was still cheaper to just buy M16s than build an AR18 factory.

the IRA called it the "widowmaker"

bean July 7th, 2008 12:04

Awesome I love seeing more classics kicking around :)

Does that refer to the operator, or the target? :p

swatt13 July 8th, 2008 19:47

ive actually seen and handled a real one - ar 180b. its used mostly for sport/ competition shooting from what i understand. and the recievers are fiber baSED rather than steel.

Lerch July 11th, 2008 21:59

...I want one...

The M16/FAL bastard child intrigues me ;)

Frost_505 September 20th, 2012 05:28

I was just reading up on the AR-180 when I came across this thread on the web lol. Really like that classic look to it. Would love to get my hands on one of these, looks like a combination of a FN FAL and a Thompson M1A1.

Kingsix November 24th, 2014 02:06

Because Type 89s are descendant of the AR18

Type 89F with 1.5-4x30 scope

Type 89 with RDS
