help my mechbox needs some love... lol seriously i need help...
so here i got my aftermath mp5j... clone of the cyma mp5j which is a clone of the tm mp5j lol...
ok so my problem was after an op my trigger was jammed and felt like my safty wasn't disembarking. so when i got home i did some research and the selector switch on most mp5's give problems but when i took my mechbox out just to examine the selector plate i didn't see anything wrong with it. so it had to be internal... so i opened up the mechbox to find a small piece of something jamming the trigger... once i got everything back in place i put it all back together and now it only shoots in fullauto mode weather it's on semi or full... does anyone have anytips on how to fix this oh yeah and onemore thing the last time i hooked up my battery it just started to fire without me even pulling the trigger so i pulled the battery off right and it started to heat up in my hand (not plugged in) so now i'm waiting on a new battery... http://photos-h.ak.facebook.com/phot...65071_4619.jpg http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/phot...65072_4936.jpg |
If it's only firing in auto, look up information regarding the cut-off lever. It's what permits your gun to fire in semi.
If your gun is firing without you pulling the trigger, you've probably reassembled the trigger mechs incorrectly. |
is it ok or possible to test the gun with 9v batteries (the small rectangle ones) cos for some reason my mini type no longer wors from the last time i plugged it onto my gun...
|
You might have killed your battery, I suggest holding off any other battery tests for now. Did that gun have a fuse? It doesn't look like it.
|
you probably blew your fuse, i did that a few times, post a picture of the piece you took out, it might be essential
oh, and all guns have a fuse somewhere, check in the fore grip, it will probably be in there |
yeah there is a fuse but when i pulled the battery off i then checken the fuse and looks like it.s not blown... but i will change before i get my new battery just in case... i'm going to open up the mechbox and take some pics in a couple of days thanks for the help for now but hopefully the pics would help to help me out even more...
|
post a close up pic of the selector plate. If you lost the little spring that pushes on the cut off lever, your gun will lose its semi function.
Also, if you lost the little spring on the switch, the switch will not spring back open, causing the gun to fire when the trigger is not pulled. 2 things to check at least. |
Check the tamiya connectors on the battery and mechbox wires. Maybe one of the wire isn't properly inserted in the connector.
|
if your battery heats up when unplugged, it probably has a short circuit somewhere.do not charge it unless you find the problem.
|
ok so here are some close ups of the internals... the third pic points to something i think is broken can someone tell me what it is... close up on the 4th pic... oh and the selector plate looks normal

That appears to be the latch that locks the trigger assy in after cycling once. You'll likely need another one from another box of the same version. That would be your full auto all the time problem right there. I'm not 100% on this but second opinion to confirm? thanks
|
Not that I'm an expert, but I concur with what Azriel said.
|
yea, that cut-off lever looks broken, its cheep to replace though, and make sure that theres no grease anywhere near any of the electrical connections.
|
cool guys thanks fer all the help i.ll try to replace it asap... but for now i'm gonna see about getting a better gearbox... but sofar cost is holding me back... so i might just have to fix my sheit...
|
Not a bad guess, eh?
Jugglez (airsoftparts.ca) is out of ver2 cutoff levers, and I just used my last one to fix a guy's JG 416. You could ask CDN_Stalker if he's got an extra. Kind of lousy that you have to hunt so hard for a $10 part...Jugglez usually has them. Tys |
for this level of gun, it doesn't make sense to drop $50-$70 for a new geerbox, plus parts, just get a new gun

beacuse you think we have more money? its still a better choice to get a new gun but yea, i am dropping another 350 on airsoft tonight, gettin the prowin 8mm gearbox, its gonna be amazing |
United states guns are a ton cheaper, Guns in canada are like ~400$ for a JG or Echo1, the ICS or CA go for around 600-700$
thats what he means by its easy for someone to say in the US |
order something from here then, or china even, the guns i have are all ordered from china
|
Doesnt work like that...
|
So your saying its taxes?
|
SAve me the trouble and look at the FAQ's

And stop thinking you know better than us. |

What? do you think you know better then me beacuse of my age? i bet im just as capable at upgradeing/fixing as you are, and i know im a better air softer |
that box shell should put up with velocities around 400 FPS. The smaller parts are what you should upgrade.
just get a TM replacement cut off lever and some metal bushings and you're set! |

I think you should take some Ritalin and have a glass of warm milk. Back to the subject, I see zero reason for an MP5 to be upgraded to such insane velocities- but I digress. |

Customs will simply take away our ordered guns and we will never see the gun or our money back. It's a shitty place to love airsoft. So like the guy said, "Cry for us". |

anyone know who's got a cutoff leaver to sell i've been hunting around and can't seem to find any... ok so i went pretty cheep for my first gun but i have to say for the price i paid it's a all around good gun... thats why i'm looking to make it better i'm gonna improve on the faults... ok so if anyone knows where and from who i can get the cutoff from msg me please...
|
i was looking for metal bushins and lol my head is spining... lol what specs metal bushing are good for my mechbox... i don.t know the diffrences of 6mm or 8mm oil less, double oiled, and so on and so on...

well it looks like your gun has regular 6mm, or standerd, plastic bushings
so you could get standerd metal bushings, or you could get bearing bushings for just a little more, and will spin with less resistance |
http://cgi.ebay.com/Guarder-STEEL-Cu...QQcmdZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.com/Systema-AREA1000...QQcmdZViewItem both are legal to import and probably customs wont bother with taxes since its so cheap gun fixed |

you need 6mm bushins/bearings, and those are good prices for high end parts. Go for it, you won't be sorry! |
