Where can I find...
This exact vest http://www.opsgear.com/PhotoGallery....de=CN%2DOTVGSL from a retailer that displays a size and has options for which size.
Im not asking to be spoon fed i've googled and haven't had any luck thus far just wondering if anybody here has seen it around before? Or personally has one |
you tried emailing opsgear an asking them?
|
Well... No.. I could I guess I just wanted to order it like right away! But yeah ill do that.
|
OTV?
|
ya its a otv and i found mine on ebay
|
I have an OTV, i bought 2 SDS brand (issue) off ebay but they didn't have any size small, so I ordered through my surplus dealer and, to my surprise, he managed to find a point blank (original manufacturer) version, complete with onderarm, shoulder, groin and throat protector lol
Ya they're all over ebay you just have to wait for them. |
Oh okay I wasn't quite sure what to put in under search, I'll try OTV and have a look see, Thanks gentleman.
Edit- Sigh all I can find is "Suitable for 5'10 and under".. And i'm 6'4 |
OTV cover, IBA interceptor, they only come in XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL, I think they had seperate height as well but all the interceptors I've seen have been one height only. It's specifically designed to protect your vital organs in your chest, not your stomach :p

Yep I know thats where I found them at first im just unsure about size.. I've had vests too small and they were very uncomfortable, Before I fork out 100+ for a vest I want it too fit. TC could you show me where to find sizes like that for this particular vest? I can't find it anywhere dude...
|
It follows standard US sizing, same as BDU's.
It's probably best to buy one size smaller because the OTV's are pretty big, especially since most people don't put all the padding and fake plates in them. Off the top of my head, medium is 38-41" chest. Look for IBA interceptor sizing or something like that on ebay. If I managed to find the NSN of each individual cover, you should be able to find the sizes lol |
lol alright. thanks guys.
|
Oh OPS Gear! They are up the freeway from me! I go there about once a month or so to get gear. This is actually my next purchase from them. Its a one size fits all and it adjusts really well. Ops Gear also has awesome Customer Service and repond very quickly. Shoot them an email. Only bad thing about them is they are a paintball place so you when you go to their store you have the Paintball pricks that are there too.
|
Wow, i looked that OTV up on ops gear, pretty good looking model, of course you can never tell how good ACU is from a picture...
Anyway if you dont think your going to use shoulder and groin pads, just buy the real cover for 100$ |
Where could someone get a real cover TC?

If you dont plan on putting in foam stuffing, it'll sit too big on you. If you use stuffing ("soft armor") alone it'll be "loose" but it'll fit ok, kinda like a jacket. With both front and rear plates in, I find it extremely snug and sometimes wish I had a larger size (so I usually leave the rear plate out). Plate size is the same as the OTV's (Medium OTV = Medium SAPI plate). |
Ebay has real covers, keep in mind they dont come with soft armor.
And That guy with the M14 in the first pic looked like he was wearing a ranger rack, but in the second pic I can see it's an OTV, it looks like it doesn't have any soft armor in it, but I can see he has the underarm protectors, very nice! Like I said, I got my OTV through a retailer, it was just the covers so I bought 2 closed cell foam matresses and after an hour or two of cutting I filled up every piece of armor I had. Of course it's boiling hot in there now with the underarm protectors on lol |
He wears his Ranger Rack over his OTV.
|
ohhhhhh so I was half right then lol
So does he have plates/soft armor in his OTV? Granted it takes a while to cut them out and its freakin hot, but it makes the vest much more comfortable, especially when its -5 out lol |
Well they have responded saying one size fits all but I may be too tall... Well... I'll order it and see what happens, worst case scenario I can always just re-sell it. And yeah i'd like the throat, shoulder, and especially groin protection... Thanks for your help guys.
|
I just sold that exact vest on this forum for $80.00 and it was an XL. Give me a PM if you need information on where to get one up to XXL size.
Lotech |
No he doesnt have plates/pads in it or anything
|
Hey Lotech,
Thanks but I got an email back from them saying they only carry large and xlarge. 24" from shoulder to waist, should fit just perfect! Again guys thanks for all your help. |
Thanks to Lotech I found the vest for about 80$ cheaper! If anyone is looking for this vest I highly recommend www.airsoftgi.com !
|
It looks like they used white snow instead of desert sand on that ACU lol
Anyway it's impossible to tell from a picture, but you'll know right away when you compare it to issue BDUs. It's got straps for the shoulderpads instead of straight velcro as well, thats a bit odd... Take some pics when you get it, Id like to see it! |
Oh well.. For the price difference you will hear no complaining from this end! And sure Frank i'll have pictures for you in 8-10 business days :)
|
hey i bought that vest from lotech, superb fit's like a dream the throat protecter is really annoying though, and don't try wearing it under a leather jacket you will have almost no movement ability at all
