M14 Socom 2 project
 

Hi everyone,

Recently ive bought a TM M14 Socom and felt in love with a pic of a Springfield Socom 2.

So i bought on WGC the M14 Nitro.Vo rail and just finished installing it (with the help of Shakal). It also have a TM mount that ive had to cut to fit the existing nitro rail.
The M14 is stock, no internal upgrade, just a Prometheus tightbore 420mm on the way.

The project is not finish but i tought that i will share some pics. It will be paint like the original pic except for the white i intend to use some light green. Let me know what you think and maybe some suggestion for the paint.

go to a hobby shop and buy the Model Master Spray cans in these colors
S.A.C. Bomber Tan
S.A.C. Bomber Green
do tigerstripe style, but leave black in it.
thats my opinion.

if you DO do this, make sure you spray from a far distance with these paints, they like to gum up if not misted enough. keep about a 12-15 inch distance.


ps, its a shame your top rail doesnt run flat straight to the back of the gun. those 2 sights would look better lower to the gun i think.

I know, i bought the mount before the nitro rail. Also i cant find a mount that would do this effect. The Nitro rail should have come with it in my opinion.

For the paint i have 3 airbrushes and i think that Modelmaster do make paint for this medium. Ill check the colors. Thanks :)

airbrush would look good too, but i think the quickly, but nicely doin spraypaint job looks just as good.

I'm such a sucker for M14's. I think that'll be the next AEG I break the bank for, just as soon as I finish with the G&P. Ill definitely be using yours as a benchmark.

If you're a real man with a real man's body, you'd go with the M14. If you're a real man trapped in a boy's body like yours truly, the G36 is the only thing you'll realistically be able to haul around all day. :D

Looking at this, I do miss my SOCOM. She was a hell of a lot of gun. Then again, I also miss my full length G36, haha.

Seriously the TM M14 is a great and solid gun. I think everyone will agree thats one of the best TM have to offer today. Shooting and putting a mag in it simply feels great and i like everything about it. The only thing is when handling it for the first time i was searching for tha grip, i think ive had to much guns with grips lol.

Nice work. I have one of those rails on order as well.
On a side note, nothing fires like an M14. I used to use shorter rifles until I bought my EBR.

For paint, I'd go simple. That Gucci shit will get old. Just spray the fucker down in Krylon tan, then blend in OD. Much more SF looking, if that's what you're going for.

And toss a fuckin' smiley face sticker on the front cover for you Aimpoint :D

No, i'm not up to date with the current way idiocy flows in today's youth.

I just bought one that was designed to mount like that. It's the First Factory M14 Mount base, it mounts perfectly flush to the rest of it. Unfortunately a discontinued item and hard to find. I got mine from UNCompany, they were the only ones I could find that still had it. By the way, what flashlight/foregrip is that? I've been looking for something similar.

For the flashlight, its a clone of the Surefire triggerlight M910a.

Well, ive finally found the perfect rail mount for this project, thanks to Jester.
Ive add a NCSTAR rubber scope 3-9x for recon mission. I know 9x is a bit too much for airsoft but like i said it will be use for recon so...

Ive tried this beast in an indoor CQB game and its way too heavy for that kind of game. I cant wait this summer to play an outdoor game with it.

The front rail guard is a Nitro.Vo Rail Handguard for Marui M14 (Socom2) and you can find it at WGC.
The rail scope mount is a First Factory M14 Mount Base and you can fint it at Uncompany. Together they are a perfect fit for the Socom 2 project.
