Importing an Entire Slide
Hi there fellow airsofters. I know metal slides are OK to import, but what about an entire complete slide? Metal slide, metal barrel, inner barrel, piston, sights, and markings?
Anyone had experience with this? |
Probably just get seized. I don't think a customs officer would treat it any differently.
|
But why is it OK to import slides then?

AFAIK slides, frames, receivers, and mags w/ fake rounds are all on the watch list. I'm not 100% sure, but this is to the best of my understanding. |

That was actually useful Frozencricket.
Since the slide I want has a barrel length of 114mm, I should be OK. |
The best way to confirm is to contact the Border Information Service and ask.
|
I highly doubt you'll be able to import something like that.
|
I recieved mine (slide and outer barrel) it was clearly marked on the customs forms what it was, it was opened at customs held for around 5 days then sent on to me.

Receivers are the critical part, those get seized/destroyed. Slides, even with a barrel inside, should not be an issue since you can import the real thing...

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=22107 G 17 and Glock 17 Black on the packaging as well as 7075 High Quality Aluminum. I ordered it June 2 and signed for it June 12 |
how's the customs fee on slides? are they outrageous :D ?
|
I don't know the laws good enough to say what's legal/illegal. If your concerned, contact Jugglez at Airsoftparts.ca. He brought me in a metal body/slide/barrel for my P226 without problem. And he is an amazingly quick reply to e-mails etc.

AFAIK slides are ok. My buddy ordered his from UNC and it came in. Package WAS open and held by customs for a couple days but he still received everything. That was 8-10 months ago. I know the outer barrel can be tricky. Best you can do is check the approve size (+105mm i think?) and make sure the content is clearly describe in a letter in the package. Or else customs *might* not even bother to check the size and just hold it. Better safe than sorry i say. |
This is a good thread for me since I plan to at some point buy a KSC MK23 metal slide kit and had been wondering how I could get it in safely.
|
any updatez on that?
I'd like to import a slide for a glock 26, the barrel is less than 90mm... |
Fuck, how do you import a
partial slide? lol. Well if you kiddies haven't been paying attention, even a real steel slide isn't the restricted part you have to worry about. PS: anyone looking for a partial slide I promise to only give you the tip! |
I was reading styraks post about regan being new to the site and was thinking WTF he has been here for like 3 years, then when jimski asked how it went I checked the post date and it made alot more sense.

This brings back memories...

Dear lord...
Brought one of my first threads back to life. |
yeah thanks for commenting on that but I was expecting something like new info...

So it's not really clear as of now. I'd be quite pleased if somoeone who knows what he's talking about could post some info here, rather than the usual asc chit-chat. |

Its like ordering airsoft. Ya, it may get it, but it might not. Why wont it get it? cause its prohibited. The slide you want is for a prohibited gun. They will assume its for the real deal. Thus, its illegal. Get a retailer to import it for you. |

ok thank you people!

I ordered my P226's slide / barrel set from cobra airsoft. Got inspected by customs. Made it to me without an issue.
|
I think I'm at about 3 dozen
slides imported now... and a few complete ones. I've brought in compact 3.9 slides and tiny 3.9 barrels. Customs has never stopped anything I've ever imported other than a receiver or a pistol frame. And most of my stuff gets looked at on a reg basis. IMO, CSBA couldn't care less about our toy parts, other than than the receivers/frames. |
