Maj. Dilemma

I decided that I want to pursue a ww2 airsofter hobby.
My dilema is wheter to obtain the uniform first or the weapon?
1;The uniform would cost about 750$
2;ANd the gun would cost 750$

And no i cant buy the two together cause my funds are not leting me :|

So lets vote :D

TNX!

BC_K January 1st, 2006 19:35

Airsoft is expensive, Get over it.

I'd say get weapon first, you can play sooner.

Only simple friggin logic there.

Krieg January 1st, 2006 19:38

that was quick for a 1st vote.
(secretly in my mind that what i was thinking)

So tnx for the imput. :salute:

yanhchan January 1st, 2006 20:21

Get the uniform first and run around with a stick...no j/k what model airsoft gun are you getting?

Krieg January 1st, 2006 21:20

MArushin k98 (yes i bloody know its not a practical skirmish weapon), but I'd "die" for realism. And for a noob like me its good.

yanhchan January 1st, 2006 21:28

side arm plans?

Krieg January 1st, 2006 21:49

I will proly try to get a luger.
But it is pretty hard to find on canadian websites. I looked on many, but havent found any, altough I might only need to drop them a email so they can import it who knows. But right now side is only low priority. Ive gotta get the uniform step-by-step.

why not the TOP MP40?

Krieg January 1st, 2006 22:05

I dont know man. :-?
It might be just that I never came upon an MP40 on any website so it didnt catch my mind.

tiger-unit January 2nd, 2006 01:40

Please take my advice, do NOT get the Marushin, I have heard only bad things about it, go for the Tanaka. Yes I know its not as realistic, but you will be thanking me in the longrun...when your gun actually works.

Generation vexed January 2nd, 2006 01:48

go for the bloody uniform and well you are saving up for your gun dig trenches or something to get it really dirty

T.Smith January 2nd, 2006 08:10

In my opinion...STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM A MARUSHIN as you can...seriously. I own one, and I hate the thing with a passion. It is a bundle of trouble and if you are not a veteran Airsofter, blessed with mechanical ability, then you are SOL. I can make it work, and I have killed quite a number of guys with it, but it is not worth the trouble.

Drop the extra money into a Tanaka Kar98 and you will NEVER be disapointed. I would prefer the all metal and wood gun over Marushin's light wood, plastic, and cheap metal any day of the week.

You mentioned realism...for 750 bucks I cannot see how you would get a realistic looking set of gear, so this tells me that you are not as commited to realism as you suggest. If that is the case...then why would you want the Marushin?

If you want to talk to me on MSN, I'm on constantly and can help you out with any area of German WW2 gear.

Take care man, good luck.

Krieg January 2nd, 2006 11:50

Tnx for the input guys and actually trieing (how the heck u spell it) to help this noob.

I go now and take a look at arnies reviews between the Marushin and Tanaka.

Later all.

GMTII January 2nd, 2006 12:29

Buy the MP40. I'v owned both the Marushine KAR98 and currently own the Top MP40. and I must say that the Mp40 is 10 times better. I let someone use my Kar98 on the feild for one game and just watched him struggle with it the hole time, because the shells dont eject worth shit, and when the shells do eject, you need to pay more attention to where there landing rather than watching where your shooting at. The gun is a excellent collectors peice, but I really dont even classify it as a airsoft gun anymore just because it was designed to not be used on the feild. The MP40 is extremly high quality and built very good, but it shoots less than a stock aeg, and there's no high cap mags available yet. With airsoft you can only get so realistic even though it ejects shells, you need to think if thats practical. Go with the tanka Kar98 or the Mp40. Trust me it will be worth it.

Does Gewehr 43 airsoft weapons exist?
Like the Marushin M1 Garand?

T.Smith January 2nd, 2006 14:35

No, a Gewehr does not exist cheaply yet. There are rumours that Shoei is developing a new one, but that will probably run in the neighbourhood of 2500 dollars.

BC_K January 2nd, 2006 14:40

Have ya looked at this?

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...sp?prodID=9024

T.Smith January 2nd, 2006 14:45

That would be a bolt action G33...not the Semi Auto G43.

Krieg January 2nd, 2006 15:42

Tnx guys its good to see helpful ppl around! So the G43 is still expensive as all Shoei guns as i seen. (STG44, MG34, MG 42 etc)

I looked at Redwolf airsoft but I read somewhere that one cannot import airsoft weapons into Canada except if you have a right licences or something like this.

That G33\40 is the short mountainer version right? Anybody owns one?
If yes are you a mountainer reanactor?

Thats why you get retailers to get things for ya.

How else do ya think everyone here got their aegs/ect?

T.Smith January 2nd, 2006 16:11

Tanaka rifles are top of the line. I would recommend any of them. They are definatley worth the 900. As BC_K said, retailers can custom order certain weapons in. Make sure you have the money before asking or else you won't be taken seriously.

hansrohleder January 3rd, 2006 15:07

I would buy the uniform first. For myself airsoft is a secondary project when compared to creating a WWII impression. You can always borrow or get a modern airsoft gun and wear the uniform.

The uniform you can wear all year! Impress your friends, spice up your love life, or rule a holloween party. Even just having it hanging up on your wall will instill a sence of pride knowing that you have not forgeten about a group of men who tried to change the world.

In today's modern world a German WWII uniform says you're an educated man. You don't buy into the propaganda and lies of the victors of confilict and you can find out facts for yourself.

T.Smith January 3rd, 2006 15:09

Well put kamerad.

Krieg January 3rd, 2006 15:53

That was very well put indeed.
Gott Mit Uns.

*Edit
I wrote couple of emails to ww2militaria-kcs and rangers airsoft.
For the first i wrote about 2 days ago, yet no answer.
For the latter i wrote on saturday still no answer.

And no I didnt write noob quetions, but i was ordering straight forward.
Is rangers closed? what about ww2militaria-kcs?
Maybe they still have an effect from new year's party
Or I am a terribly impatiant son-of-a-b****.

Greylocks January 3rd, 2006 16:22

Do you honestly expect people to stop their holiday celebrations to answer emailed questions?

You just joined, breathe, relax.

Flawless January 4th, 2006 03:30

Hey man. I bought my m1A1 Thompson first. So I could have some fun while I slowly collected my WWII gear. Im almost done collecting the main stuff. Im a Ranger. I want to buy the M1 Garand now soooo badly but I can't afford it. :P I sugest get your gun first if you want to go and play/get some exp..

Krieg January 4th, 2006 15:44

Ok!
I ordered my Kar 98.
I also considered geting a Garand, but that would cut into my wish of being a ww2 german airsofter, so the Garand wouldnt be suitable, although its a nice piece and nice weapon in itself.
As I know there is the Smokey's Garand (which costs forunes) and the Marushin which I know nothing about, although it looks great.

SOOO I hope this summer I might get on some events.
Will see what the *big-one* thinks up there.

tiger-unit January 4th, 2006 23:30

Mr.ptrap - Where did you order your kar 98 from ?

Disasterpiece January 4th, 2006 23:37

Yea, that's what I was pondering as well :-( Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those

Krieg January 5th, 2006 13:37

Rangersairsoft.
And no its not Tanaka, I think it is high quality though I still like realism a lot and it took the better of me.
I ordered the Marushin and I seen negative, reviews as well as positive.
Marushin also appeals to me because it involves more mechanics than the Tanaka, plus I cant afford an extra 150-200$ to spend on an airsoft gun of the similar kind.
Anywayz thanks for the input!

Unless it was handed down to you, its not authentic, probably not even close. Good, authentic German Uniforms can go upwards of 2000$.

i dont like to spend alot of money ... plus im ghetto poor  i know its not authentic but why would you wanna spend that much money on something that you could get fake and it would work jus as well :?

Krieg January 5th, 2006 15:53

150$
WOW you must be talking in Kuwait dinars.

T.Smith January 5th, 2006 20:09

The wool is probably horrid quality. Cheaper means low quality as well as a poor repro.

For 150 dollars I am slightly scared at what you could get. I s'pose it is good that you are trying though *thumbs up* Good to see interest.

hey, im hey May 16th, 2006 17:04
