How NOT to ask questions on ASC: Is Crossman a good brand
I am looking into airsoft guns and was wondering if crossman is a good brand
|
Lol fuck no
|
Pus, banned before he even sets foot back in TO..
Crossman is considered an "toy" brand.. low reliability, poor performance and durability.. not really a "Skirmishable" brand |
what about auto ordance

I would suggest starting out if you can't afford the higher end brands with something like A&K, CYMA, or JG. Yes the quality isn't the best and you may have to repair it after a while but they are decent guns for the price

i found a guy selling a auto ordance thompson cheap so if its a good brand id buy it
|

JG is a better starter platform. hell I'd wager that Lancer tactical might even do better. |
well its not a crap brand from what i know

Is Crossman a good brand
Quote:
But, from what you know, why isn't it a crap brand? Please enlighten us. |
know people with the brand and have never ever had any problems
|
then buy it lol, you seem convinced already.
might as well be buying lotto tickets though, probably last longer. |
I am awaiting the pictures to appear...

Crossman is clearsoft... Enough said... |
wow u dont understand i am aksing if its good and from what i hear from some people i know they say nothing bad about it u guys say ohter wise
|
You've already made up your mind, so why bother asking? Also the lack of AV means I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fifteen year old.
|

where you can use a clear spring pistol and be uber l337? if you already believe that the brand is good, and by the looks of things nothing we say is going to change that, why start this thread in the first place? and as for the auto ordnance thompson, doing a bit of searching around its a rebrand of the CYMA thompson, which isnt THAT bad. Crossman on the other hand...... |
Yeah, never heard of it.. Definitely go with reputable brands like Cyma, A&K, JG, etc.. Trust the ppl with experience, it worked out for me :s
|
Hahahaha crossman. That's like asking "Is Wendy's a good restaurant to take a girl for a first date to impress her?" Made my day. Thank you...I was having a bad day till I read that.

I've still got my original crosman spring pistol from 05/06, still shoots.. but like crap!
Are you thinking Cybergun/Cyma, perhaps? Quote:
2 almost 3 years later, we still go once and awhile hah. Quote:

he said metal body and gears but crossman it looks like a cyber gun fro the pics
|
Here is what should be considered. As a guy who has seen a plethora of guns under all situations for the past 2 years.
-25C +40C Step 1, enter into this with a solid starter. This is going to be your 1"go to "gun. It will get you out of shit, fall back on, whatever you want to call it. But you NEED a solid go to gun. Crossman aint it. I suggest you research guns like the Echo 1 Platinum Version. Here is how this will go if you don't.
Finally, you say fuck it. You like the sport. But you need to ditch the gun and get a new one. The one you have goes in the garbage cause its worthless. So THEN you go buy the next gun. One like the Eco 1 Why am I saying that one? Its VFC internally and this gun will not be a piece of shit. You wont need to do anything to it. And if you spring up to the next level? She is your go to gun. You want to sell it? Yup, you can. Pay me now....pay me later + interest. . |

well if its a cyber gun then im more likely to look into more plus im waiting on the age verified thing on here
|
You can pick up a good quality Cybergun/King Arms Thompson for $200 or so, I believe? Brand new, no worries about quality or previous mileage.
We can talk Thursday or whenever we meet up. Without knowing this fellow, it's hard to say how he has treated the weapon and what he could have done with it. (WD40 down the barrel, etc..) There are a fair few things he could have done to it, that one should never do. |
ya but it will be thompson metal and that plastic i hate the feeling of that
|
Metal doesn't mean quality. They are not good reliable brands for people who want to airsoft. They are toys for plonking in your basement. This forum is the most collective and experienced there is. Your friends likely don't know what they are talking about because they haven't experienced proper airsoft guns. A kraken is better than a Crossman, but yet neither brand is worth your time and/or money. Get AV'ed and we can tell you where to buy the best priced, most reliable, and proper grades of weapons. Don't rush into junk, you'll regret the same as all the others we've warned over the years.
|
Issei,
With all due respect, you come here with questions; There are 100% chances that a metric ton of us here have the answers you *need* (as opposed to *want*), with chances of flaming (this is ASC, there's no way around this :P) So, stop using the word "but", it's bad for you, and hold on to your wallet a bit more. It needs just a liiiiitle bit more time get the fat it needs so you can buy something that's actually worth it. There's always great deals hanging around, much worth waiting for. Airsoft is an expensive sport, and patience will help you save TONS of money, and time, and frustration. Take that advice like a champ and carry on! Cheers mate |

Well said Nobody posted advise to him for some kind of monetary gain. Just seeing the next post on a slow Tuesday night. Dude who is looking to spend money. Trying to steer him away from the countless other mistakes guys made in an ever changing market. I.E. supply/demand; changes in FPS imports etc etc. All effecting what the average dude can get today vs a mere 24 months ago. |
dude im not dumb im just looking around for good brands and why wouldnt i wanna spend money u have to spend money to get a gun dumbass i sold my first gun already i wanted something different
|
Issei, I say rock on and buy that thompson! Buying low grade guns is the only way that some people will learn. Buy cheap, buy twice.
We are trying to save your wallet some butthurt here. If you wish to spend your hard earned cash on something that may break within 1000 BBs, then by all means. Just dont insult us by ignoring the wisdom and hindsight gained through years and years of trial and error. Many of us have regretted the amount of cold hard cash wasted on stupid impulse purchases. Those who do not learn from the past are destined to make the same mistakes. Learn from us and our stupidity. An extra 100 dollars spent getting a higher quality gun can go a LONG way. |
Calm down.
You're taking the wrong approach to this. You buy shit guns, you end up wasting your money. The more you cheap out on a gun, the higher the chance you'll end up having to buy another new gun shortly after from the massive headache that cheap gun will be. Word of advice: Don't cheap out. Ever. Look into what 'low cost' (Cheap is a bad word, don't use it.) alternatives there are out there. KA M4's are an option for sure, tested and true. As well as their Thompsons. Just wait 'til you get your age verification run through and hold on to your money. There are many guns available through private retail and on the classifieds that might fit your 'low cost' budget. |
Settle down, right now, or you might find your stay here a bad one.
The advice he gave you was valid and sound. He is trying to prevent you from buying a gun that will cost you more in repairs and downtime then its worth. Reporting posts because they are the truth you don't want to hear is also a no no. |
Are you people dumb i am not spending anything yet i am only looking into sellers and guys for sale i havent said anything to anyone about purchasing anything yet i am asking simple questions and stating my opinion form what i know and what i have heard that is all
|
Quote:
You can voice your opinion, but be respectful. Calling people dumb ass isn't a good start to this site. |

If you are interested in good brands perhaps you may have wanted to do some more reading before posting about a brand nobody but backyard kidiots care for. Seriously there are a TONNE of threads on the site regarding starter guns, what a good gun is etc... it just takes the time and effort of searching |

Listen to these guys, you're getting AV'd, wait til you see what's available you will kick yourself for even considering that shit |

Because I won't spoon feed you the answers? I gave you advice and a very useful tool. Use it. also helpful hint Insulting admins (Which I am not but cobra is) can result in your age verification taking longer. Also insulting long standing members of the site will result in your reputation being dragged through the mud and you getting less and less help. ASC has a very good community it can help you a lot if you are willing or it can turn into a very spiteful hate machine. |
Bottom line, crossman is crap, we all would hate to see you waste some money, get frustrated, regret buying the hunk of junk and have a bad experience with a rather awesome and fun sport. Get age verified. Until you do, search ASC for good starter guns. There's millions of threads(well lots on it). If you were old enough I'd tell you some right now. Sorry if you didn't like our answers, sorry if you felt flamed. But it was a silly question kind of. And it got some true answers. FYI I love Wendy's but my girl doesn't :P

Your budget is realistic bud. Next. M4? (me like M4 that's why I say) |
"Post something useful" seems to equal being spoon-fed for this individual.
R.I.T.Z. has just shown you something very useful on this forum. Spend some time reading for yourself.. not having other people to do the research for you. |
A quick reminder to those in here, this is the Newbie Tank - kid gloves are to be worn.

We have given you many options for starter brands that don't suck and are not above $400. Beyond this you will need to start doing some research on your own. Unless you have some questions about a specific gun I would suggest you abandon this thread. |
as for trev not a big m4 fav i lean towards aks small smgs ww2 stuff ect

Sorry, just noticed that. Thank you. ...........Over and out....... |

instead of you looking up various brands (some of which have been posted) and the appropriate reviews? I mean you are in the newbie tank, just go through the first 5 pages, most of the threads will be questions about starter guns and what gun should i get. If you are expecting this http://cdn.trendhunterstatic.com/thu...echnology.jpeg chances are you won't be getting it |
Just bite the bullet.

Issei - a word of advice - please put a teensy-tinesy bit of effort into your posts. This is a forum, not instagram, not 'txt'ing, and not a facebook personal page for you to spew semi/totally incomprehensible, entirely punctuation-absent literary diarrhea to people only interested in friending you in order to read your spewage. The side-benefit of putting a bit of effort into it, is that people WILL take you more seriously. They may even believe that you are over the age of Majority (18+) .. because right now, your writing is screaming out "10 year old". I am sure that i would not be the only one appreciative of even a minimal effort on your part. I doubt, however, that you will even bother to get past the first few words of this post with anything further than a "ya whateva is a mp5 a good guy?". |
ha funny ok ill try to use better grammar because it matters so much to you

its a thread not a university paper I honestly dont care enough to go through and spell every word proper and pretty like because one guy doesnt like it
|
Quote:
Simple grammar and punctuation some how draws a little bit more respect for a poster. Something which you should be scrambling for at this point. |
Quote:
Reading comprehension. Embrace it. It's not just one guy.. as other posts after my rant has already indicated. Get with the program, or get out. Even the newbie tank has it's limits. Otherwise, good luck with your airsoft fun. |
If I told myself "I'm not driving out there, wasting gas, time, etc.. just for ONE guy. Not worth it."
Nobody would get AV'd! If you want to waste your time by not caring, I won't waste mine either. Equal? As RITZ said, we're adults, we should act like one... most of the time. |
Its not just one guy, its pretty much everybody. It takes an iota of effort of make a post more comprehensible. It's for your benefit, not ours.
|
I have read every single post so far thank you and I thank everyone for what good opinions that they have given to me for airsoft brands. I am looking into the brands and will continue to do so
