Helikon Camogrom

I'm buying a set of multicam and I simply cannot afford the real crye stuff and I came across the brand Helikon. To the best of my knowledge, they make stuff for the Polish military. I was wondering if anybody has any opinions on their stuff?

Also, another set I'm considering is the Allwin multicam on airsoftdepot.

Opinions on both would be great! Also, opinions on twill vs ripstop are appreciated!

The Helikon stuff in the link above seems incredibly green to me, not sure if that's how it's supposed to be.

The stuff seems to be half decent

it's close, but the pattern is a little broader and does not quite match MTP

the colours are on the multicam Pallet, and this will match both with MTP and multicam.

I have the smock, very good piece of kit for a lightweight smock. I do have some concerns regarding durability.. but that remains to be seen

overall I'm pretty impressed with the Helikon products

I recently picked up a Flecktarn Helikon jacket. I'm pretty impressed so far. Obviously I can't attest to how long it'll hold up yet, but the material feels stronger and lighter than my Propper ones. They have a couple nice little extra features too: zip open armpits for ventilation (you don't notice the zippers at all though); microfibred inside collar is really comfortable and the material is nearly waterproof right out of the packaging.

Thanks everybody. Any comments on Allwin?

And has anybody ordered from Flecktarn.co.uk before?

None of the helikon uniforms are issued to soldiers but some are using them as private purchase. Multicam stuff has been seen being used by Russian FSB in Dagestan. Ive also read Helikon is an airsoft-grade manufacturer, products made in three countries - Poland, China and Pakistan. Some good, some not.

I haven't ordered from them before but I know people who have. They are fine to deal with but you have to remember the cost is in GBP (brit pound) and shipping from the UK isn't cheap.
The shirts you are looking at are almost 70 cad before shipping. There are multicam options available from the US that are real multicam around that same price point , some slightly less.
Look through optactical.com at the SORD line of BDU's they are pretty good and reasonably priced, I recently purchased a set of the trousers and Iam very happy with them.

The next best thing to Crye (some say even better in terms of durability) would be the Ops pants from ur-tactical.com. It's the correct pattern and the sizing is pretty much what they say it is.

Polish "multicam" is called Suez and runs a bit darker and more green than the american stuff. I'm not sure if it's what helikon uses or if they have their own variation but it's what these cool dudes are wearing:

If they use legit Suez I may be convinced to split some shipping costs.

Why not buy surplus?
http://armyissue.com/catalog/advance...tion=1&x=0&y=0
Call the store they can search through sizes and let you know the condition of them.
Was there today (am there once a week at least lol) hes got a fair amount of multicam and gets more regularly.

I totally forgot about the prices being in GBP! Thanks for the heads up man, it's really appreciated! Also just found out that transactions paid for with a credit or debit card are subjected to a minimum extra $10 fee or more depending on what you order.

The Allwins on airsoftdepot seem like the next best thing. I've heard decent things about them and it's from a canadian retailer.

Helikon's "Camogrom" is their own multicam. It has much more brown than multicam. That said, their uniforms and jackets are great. I own the softshell in Camogrom and although it is noticeably different than multicam it is not that big of a deal. Up close, you notice. From a short distance you don't. See the pic below the jacket pic. On the left I have the Camogrom level 5 on and you can't really tell it's not multicam.

Also, a good retailer to deal with is http://www.hwesta.eu. They will price it in Zloty, GBP, EUR, and USD.

I was looking specifically at the version above by Helikon. I think it's their version of MTP and not camogrom, so I stand corrected.

Just got their Liberty fleece and a few other things to checkout what the hype is about....seems like a TAD gear knockoff... a few of thier pants, materials used seem comparable to Condor type products and lots of loose threads ....not overly impressed so far. All made in China.

Was interested in them originally as I saw that CTOMS was carrying them.
