I've read quite a few horror stories of VFC having to be sent back on day 1 for broken pins and triggers not working properly; piston heads having to be changed because they wouldn't last long, etc.. Ok, sure the full metal body is awesome, and beleive me, I am also thinking of getting either a VFC or ICS full metal body, but give me something to work on here. SRC Gen III G36's are 380$ near my place, and even sometimes on sale for cheaper, that with a smart charger and decent starter battery would come out to 480$ before taxes. The VFC is going for over 600$ and that without batteries, so easily 700$ + before taxes, does the over 200$ really justify the internal quality of VFC vs. the Gen III SRC Gearbox v3 ? For a noob? (I'm just trying to follow some experienced players advice here: Not to care about FPS, and to get something noob-friendly: G36 seems to be on the top of the list for that)

And from the reviews I've read, the SRC G36's have VERY VERY good internals.. I would like someone to tell me EXACTLY what is better about the internals. I really hope I am not misunderstood, I just like to get some precise answers, something to change my noob mind, I need something concrete to work on here. Just because everyone says its better, doesn't mean I'll also jsut go buy one for that.. just give me concrete examples as to why a VFC SCAR would last longer than an SRC G36 (internally! externals I don't care about right now).. Most users here I think will agree the G36's are really a good way to go for a first AEG, they're noob-friendly and all  Is the almost 200$ higher price tag on a VFC worth it for a noob like me?

In this case I apologize for bringing that up altogether, I think I have been very misunderstood / I didn't explain clearly enough what I meant. IN NO WAY WAS I TRYING TO SAY HIGHER FPS IS BETTER.. THE FACT I AM GOING FOR A GUN ADVERTISED AT 330 FPS SHOULD POINT TOWARDS THIS... BECAUSE I AM NOT FOCUSING ON FPS AT ALL, IT IS NOT WHAT I AM PLACING MY BETS ON. That was to comment on an earlier post further up this thread about the fps these aeg's put out.. has absolutely nothing to do with deciding on what gun to get or not. I was also pointing towards the fact that most stores use this as a marketing ploy to get buyers to go for it.. that is all! So can we stop flamming me about the whole FPS thing? (If I knew it was that time of month for most of you, I'd have shut up.. :oO: ) I was stating a fact, not giving a personal opinion.. ;)

*Sometimes I do have trouble explaining what I mean, so for this I apologize.. I know how touchy the FPS thing is, so trust me when I say I am not trying to face execution/flamming here! * :oO:

If you're looking in the $400 range have you considered the ICS MP5 as well? The current full metal is $380 and the new split gearbox MX5 model is due in Canada at the end of the month. If your heart is set on a G36 then your choices may be a little more limited at this time and in that case the SRC may be fine for you, I'm just suggesting if you're going to spend $400 it might be better to save just a little extra and get something with a body that will last forever. One thing to consider about the SRC gen 3 is that if you like full auto fire it seems to have a much lower ROF than VFC or KWA guns.

G36 choices aren't limited. Right now in Canada you can get every model of G36 made by practically every manufacturer.

Maybe. There was batch of AEGs that turned up on Redwolf or UnCo a few months ago that sold out very quickly.

All the new pictures that have come up though are of the GBB version.

Yes.

I have a full black Classic Army G36 sitting beside me right now.

Yes. Non transparent airsoft guns can be sourced through this websites buy and sell or through this websites retailer section.

Although I thought you said that you felt that this websites age verification was to hard and didn't do anything anyways and that you were going to go somewhere else.

Oh wait, you did.

GODSPEED|seven April 7th, 2010 13:38

There are other sources to get full black Airsoft AEG's, but you also have to verify your age.. :)

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw April 7th, 2010 21:45

Chances are those sources also operate on here, and do business here via the AV system here.

:D

Yes, I could not agree more. I am running .25's through a walmart m4 and it shoots great ;) I have yet to try them in my SRC G36 as it is in for repair.

I do and I did, bought a VFC. Like I said it's easier to buy a full metal gun than to get AV'd here.

Not really. It's just the same, at least for me. Took me a few seconds to get AV'd and it was on my way home from work. Spent most of the time just talking too.

To be honest, it's very stupid to close doors of opportunity from yourself. Might as well get AV'd and get a chance to see what others have to offer. Being lazy and not willing to go a little bit out of your way to get AV'd does NOT mean it is a bad system.

While I agree with you it is a good thing to get AV'ed, I have been waiting for the opportunity, I am looking out for games to attend, but so far nothing is really happening.. but I do appreciate the fact that some ppl are freely contributing by being Age Verifiers, just doesn't seem to be too many of them, and as I said nothing is really happening yet. Its a little discouraging as I'm wanting to have an AEG before a game I am going to in May.. And so I'm leaning towards doing the same as Percuvius. I'm NOT trying to be lazy either, I'm offering to move around and go meet an AV'er or attend a game, so far the next game won't even have an AV'er as of yet anyways... :banghead:

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw April 13th, 2010 05:56

You could always just get a rental or two for the game. Impatience and impulse buying is (usually) never a good thing. I know that Drake has set up AV event(s) recently, maybe ask him if he (or any other verifiers) are willing to do that. What those usually involve is people meeting up at a bar or something, toss back some beers, shoot the shit and is a great chance to meet some of the local players and talk with some vets about whatever questions you may have and get AV'ed all in one go.
