Just wondering about customs timing as i ordered a scope and its been posted as being reviewed by customs theyve had it in their possession since March 23rd. How long does it take them to find out that its a 2-6x illuminated scope and nothing else?

Anywhere from 1 week to 2 years (not joking.)

Yippie. Looks like ill try calling them in a nice polite way and ask them to hurry it up. But god knows why they would have picked a scope from an ebay optics seller?

I've got an order of upgrade parts that have been there for almost 2 years now. I send them a letter every so often, call every so often. Same reply...

"Pending Review"

Customs is told by our nice Communist Govt to inspect and take anything that is Airsoft, just for the sole reason that hey we live in Canada, the only country that hates smokers, hates Airsoft (even though it doesnt kill people), and hates anything not made in Canada! But u can go to ur local gun store and buy a real steel gun and go kill somebody after! So ya customs Suck!

Ive had a vest I ordered inspected for a week and a half, they then decided to pull of all of the mag pouches off the vest, untie all the straps, then nicely packaged it up by stuffing all of it on a crappy plastic green bag which they taped up. By the time it got to me, much of the vest was wet, and I recieved the vest all balled up.

but what the hell could they be doing to a scope? like i hope and pray they dont dismantle the thing because i dont want to have buy another one when they fuck it up. and am waiting for the lovely bill they are going to send me for going through my stuff. But i mean three weeks already is a long time for them to realize that its a scope.

Hi lads,

I can see U got some troubles with the fellow canadian customs.. Well I have the same problem..

I'm from Slovakia and I sent a box with custom made wooden AK stocks and a steel outer barrel for TM AK47.. It's been 3 weeks and my Canadian friend hasn't received the box yet.. I used the tracking number and I found out later, it's been inspected by the customs and shipped back to the country of origin..
Very nice indeed.
Is it possible to send these parts legally in your country? Does it help if I write a letter and explain that those wooden stocks are only compatible with an airsoft gun? .... Or if I paint the end of the outer barrell with orange color, can that help?
Have U got some hints how to avoid customs? Maybe I'll add there a piece of French Camembert, to make the box smelling like hell :)
Thanks in advance for answers!!!

Regards,

Igor

Trying to explain how airsoft differs from real steel to the CBSA is fairly difficult. It's like talking to an 8-year-old kid.

Ireland was invented before postal codes, same with Italy and so on.

Why does the federal government and all its organs like the CBSA hate Airsoft so much? I have two working theories so far.

1. They don't want a large population of young men with practice at woodland and CQ combat, with the ability to organize and use military style tactics... in case the economy turns sour once the oil sands are gone, and the revolution comes. Who knows, perhaps someone in the civil service really is that paranoid. There were heavy workers riots back in the 20s(?) that were crushed with some serious police muscle.

2. It is the enforcement agencies going after an easy target. It is far easier to go after Airsoft and make out to higher powers that you're doing a great job, and to ignore all those nasty drug smugglers who shoot back with real weapons.
