More Abuse to be heaped on by my wife

When she finds out I have ordered

Gen 3 BDU set

DZT clone Recce smock

CP clone blast belt

and am seriously looking at a total new MC loadout chest rig...

all to go with my soon to be delivered Custom Built FMU M4

Reviews to be posted once all gear received and fielded.

swatt13 November 2nd, 2007 16:06

i wouldnt have wasted my time on the smock, but for a vest, i would definatly reccommend the phantom ciras, very accurrate color match, and material.

Oh I'm a total smock whore, I have 4 now... and I am really not much for the "armoured" look

Well for the price I got all this stuff... even if it is lacking... I wanted to get a good idea of the quality of the Clone gear.. I have seen some stuff that is actually quite good... other stuff that is trash..

I have a lot of players come through TTAC3 that are looking for advice on gear and such... if I don't have it I can't have an opinion...

Ya, took me a while to get into multicam, and trust me, actually learning to use it well is difficult!! CADPAT is easy, stick largely to shadows and when in the light, cedar trees, but MC is really hard to effectively place yourself without standing out.
Thats what I've been telling every one camo is only effective in the right areas. Dress like a clown at the Circus.

Cheers

Agreed... any camo won't help you if you don't have any fieldcraft skills.. and if you do ... you can hide quite well in jeans and a Kenora dinner jacket

i would have to disagree, now it might be my geographical location, but i find that multicam is idiot proof. if you stop moveing and go prone or crounch your gone. many times have i been engaging target and when i look away to check other angles and look back at my origional target ill be like "fuck, where are they? did they fall back, or flank?" nope, heyre right where i left em, but multicam works extreemly well. in urban environments, foliage, carniferous, dead. i havent found multicam to be at a disadvantage yet. also ya, camo is an AID to help you disappear, but its your skill and tactics that matter.

humor me tho, but i dont see what is the point of a smock? its just a jacket for colder weather, no?

Lerch November 2nd, 2007 16:51

Yup, cold and shite weather. If it's raining, it's light enough that you can wear a Goretex shell underneath without overheating ;)
