i doubt that i would fit in small, i have a fatty belly!!!

Vince October 15th, 2007 18:24

Large would fit you fine then. I'm like 6'1'' 200ish pounds and adjusted to the smallest it was a bit loose (the newer model OTV are sized larger than usual)

Heh actually I think it's the old OTVs that were sized too small. It's supposed to be that you'll use the same size as your regular sizing, i.e., if you usually wear Medium Regular BDUs, you'd use a sz Medium IBA. And by itself it's the right size, but with front and rear SAPI plates in they're way too snug.

I have an older model IBA and it's uncomfortably tight with both plates in (so I usually just use the front plate).

so any more pics?

As I know Coyote Brown OTV Interceptor have Repro only in CORDURA. but that costs US 80 ( without any pouch )... I got one from http://www.geocities.com/royaltiger44. but that's Good, with that part to Protect your important part.

Or you can find a FSBE ( with pouches ) as I saw this guys also sell it. but that's not CORDURA.

+1, the medium OTV I bought is in ACU, supposed to be 37-41" chest, it definitely STARTS at 41" and goes up lol
That's why size small is so hard to find, everyones wearing them!

JTF27 December 10th, 2007 20:17

Need a KA-BAR for sure.

swatt13 December 10th, 2007 20:27

i have an older style otv (point blank iba) and i freekin love it, however with plates its too small, cant get it done up. im a medium and its a large. figure that out.

Vince December 10th, 2007 21:46

The older generation IBA (woodland, desert and CB) are for some odd reasons, sized smaller than the tag inside. I have a large desert (had a large woodland too) so when I bought my CB (newer generation) I ordered a large and it was way too big.

Now my medium ACU is as big as my large desert.

GO figure

Maybe Americans have gotten really self conscious about their size?

Nice.

Anyone try the OTVs from Opsgear:

http://www.opsgear.com/MOLLE-SPEAR-S.../cn-otvgsl.htm

They look like decent replicas. Btw Vince nice vest.

Vince January 31st, 2008 13:01

129$, for a replica? I never paid more than 120 for real ones. If you're going to buy an OTV I strongly suggest you to wait a bit, get more cash then buy a real, the quality is always much better, after all they were made for use in combat. Also if you buy the real stuff, it's always easier to re-sell

1. Is that a PASGT helmet? (are they still used in the field?)

2. Where can I find a helmet cover like that one?

3. I'd also like to know where you got that IR patch.

4. One helluva good deal on an Interceptor.
