Ah ! damn, you are fast. I was gonna to fine the link since I only save the text in my WA pistol documentation.

Haha, good to see another WA

I don't know, thanks :)

Ahhh, I only did sideways. But
it's bedtime so tomorrow I'll
try full upside down to see if

Hello....

I might consider buying a WA SCW3 6 inch hicapa one day....and I was wondering except for the metal slide, what other internals do you need to upgrade to run it on Propane? (new hammer spring maybe?)

(will get Illusion to custom make me one :P)

thx

KND February 13th, 2010 15:04

You might consider the recoil spring and hammer spring. That's all you need so far for WA unless other parts getting worn or suddenly broken.

Gunny_McSmith February 13th, 2010 15:32

and also would a TM hopup unit fit in a WA scw3 slide? would you guys recommend that mod?(and can it be done?)

and what about a TM slide? would it fit on a WA?

KND February 13th, 2010 18:16

I'm sure that the TM slide won't fit on WA pistol. Since you consider SCW 3, I suggest you start looking for slide anyway and grab it right away if you see retailer have them in stock otherwise you will stuck paying 300 to 400 $ for a custom slide, still plastic slide on SCW 3 is propane ready, you can't tell the different from a distance since WA is using a mix of metal compound with plastic so it fee like metal.

As for hop up unit, I never handle SCW 3 before so I can't say on this one but I guess that the hop up system won't be much different from Magna pistol or it could be fixed hop up on .25 g BBs. If it's same as Magna version then TM hop up rubber won't fit on.

Gunny_McSmith February 13th, 2010 20:07

I think the hop-up is fixed... :S ...so that means I should only use .25 bbs right?

And I searched everywhere and cant find a slide for it...so I guess I'll have to order one of illusion's slides... (for how much? 200-300? or 300-400$?)

SO would you recommend a WA system or a TM system?

Daiviet February 13th, 2010 20:18

TM slide won't fit on a WA, tried myself.

TM has a bit more *current* aftermarket support, so I'd definitely go with them for the abundance of parts. However if I had the expendable money I would go with the WA system. After using the one I had, and seeing some of Safx's I really do like them, you just need a lot of time and money to work on them.

hattrick February 13th, 2010 20:31

No point doing a "hop up mod" The western arms hopup is second to TM (ksc landing a late third)

TM slide will not fit 100%

As Daiviat said, it depends on your budget/level of commitment.

Cant find a slide? for a scw3....I find that hard to believe. What model are you running? Be specific.

it would be this one

http://img.redwolfairsoft.com/upload...mg/WA361-L.jpg

(havent bought it yet though)

and why doing a hopup mod isnt necessary? The stock one is ok?

Shooting Addict February 13th, 2010 20:48

The stock hop-up is fine theres no point to modding a TM one to fit in there it's a waste of time and money IMO. Mines still stock and i love it, there nothing to do to a WA until somthing breaks. This one's the one i've got http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=22890. WA pistols are far supirior in every way from TM Hi-Capa's but if budget's an issue it's alot easier on the wallet to get a TM.

Gunny_McSmith February 13th, 2010 20:54

yup its that one i'm getting too :P

so basically a stock WA SCW3 can run on propane/gg, and if not beaten up, can last a really long time?
and I'm getting illusion to custom make me a metal slide for it too :P (any idea on price range?)

PS: budget isnt a problem....if it was I would be playing paintball now....XD

Shooting Addict February 13th, 2010 21:01

Price would be about 300-400 for a good slide i would think but i hav'nt got one made for mine yet. And the WA should be able to use propane without a problem i've probably shot 20k worth of bb's on green gas with out any headaches yet.

I just want the exact same slide as the WA stock plastic one, but made out of metal.... metal sounds and feels better imo :P

damn...my pickyness is killing my wallet... :S (arg.... I curse my friend who introduced me to airsoft....:@)

Also IMO, WA SV Inifinity guns looks so good! :P compared to TM hi-capas

Shooting Addict February 13th, 2010 21:15

It'll still caused you 300 though lol. I guess your wallet still has regrets about this sport then? I think you should just wait until the slide get's damaged it looks like and feels like metal.

Gunny_McSmith February 13th, 2010 21:19

then 300$ it will be.... :P
