so this still does'nt explain why Bruce Willis and the guy in the other picture have their aimpoints on backward. I tried looking through my Aimpoint from the other end like they would have and Illusion is right, you can't see crap so this must clearly be yet another one of the many Hollywood big faux pas out their, but what about the SWAT/ERT guy in the bottom photo?

I got to use a real EoTech when I was down in Vegas last summer. Far as I can tell, it is without question, far better then a RDS.
For airsoft's short range, a holosight is without question the best option given the funds...Without the funds, RDS.

First of all, the Aimpoint Comp ML/2 (and any red dot / reflex dot or holo sight system for that matter) will NOT function backwards... have you ever looked at your opponent while he's had his gun trained on you and you saw a big red dot where his eye should be?

No.

That's because the reflectors are designed to work one way.

Second of all, you don't need to reverse an aimpoint to get the controls on the left side - the Aimpoint Comp ML/2 is an ambidextrous design: Want to switch the controls from the right side to the left side? No problem: loosen the optics mount and rotate the RDS 90 degrees counter-clockwise and tighten the mounts. There you have it, the controls are now left hand accessible while your right hand remains on the trigger.

What was once your elevation control is now your windage control and vice versa. That's why they're not labeled as "windage" and "elevation" on the device, because those terms are simply relative. A label is just that... regardless of what either one is called, they do the same thing, and that is to pull or push the projector toward or away from the knob along the knob's axis of control.

alright fair enough. why do you think they do it?
also, i use a real EO-Tech 512 for all my sighting needs. AA batteries last forever, rugged, wide field of view, great brightness adjustment, perfect for CQB plus i find you can use the outer reticule to help account for bb drop at longer ranges. and you can add magnification if you really need it. best sight for airsoft, hands down. just get a screen protector from bruce and you are all set

Occam's Razor. Hollywood doesn't know shit from brownies, and the police guy fucked up.

Ackham's Razor, its not an Aimpoint. Alot more simpler of an explination.. and correct.8O

The sites in those pics are Trijicon Tripower scopes. Close to an Aimpoint M2 but... not close enough. QD trow arms are always ment to be on left side

I don't own one, and if I did, it'd not be on an airsoft gun, as Wilson stated, lol... Damn thing costs more than my gun :P

+1.

There's no point in putting 1,000+ stuff on a PTW. You wont be able to utilize any of it.. Receivers, and handguards-sure. Anything else is a waste.

Yeah, you're lying. Both Willis and the NYPD guy are running Aimpoints.

Even if they were Tripowers, they're still both mounted backwards.

For those running ACOGs, remember to stock up on Visine as well. Eye relief's a bitch.

I have the real deal C-MORE railway, AIMPOINT, and two variants of EOTECH. C-More will give you 100% "situational awareness" because of its set up, but it is very fragile because of its exposed lens. AIMPOINT is an improvement from C-MORE, but I feel I "tunnel vision" with it because of its "tubular shape" set up. EOTECH is the best I believe because it gives you the 100% "situational awareness" that C-MORE gives you, and also it is rugged and nicely protected by its body, similar to AIMPOINT
