Because I have never used an RS sight, I cannot compare them to my replica, but I can say that the G&P is quite good for what it is.

IMO, the glass should be as quality as your rifle capability.

So for airsoft... not really, but if I had a real rifle that needed a nice scope, I would not hesitate to use the same scope on all my rifles, real or airsoft.

Vodnik:
Holly shit those scopes are expensive! Never heard of them before realy.

But for the price of a good 5 years old car, I could have one too!

I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I'm tired or if that sentence was just Engrish, but it made absolutely no sense to me. Would you mind rewording?

If you have a 5000$ rifle and a 200$ scope on it, it does not make sence.
A good rifle should have good glass on it to use it's capability to it's fullest.

In airsoft, that is also true. A well tuned sniper rifle need to have glass that allow the shooter to see clearly beyond 300 feets. That is ridiculous in firearm thermes, but when you consider that most airsoft sniper use cheap reproduction scope that have narrow field of vision, blurry focus at range and a lot of deformation in the image, you understand why good glass is required.

Since a sniper's job is intelligence gathering and long range engaging... it's required to be able to see your target clearly both for detection and identification.
For the shooting part, you still have to be able to track your BB impacts.

I hope that make more sense to you, and others.

Ah. Thanks. :)

But it's an Aimpoint. It's a red dot sight, and at around 50m, glass doesn't impact range that much.

Unless you're talking about something else...

On topic of reddots... well I guess repros are as good as the real one for airsoft use. From my experience anyway. We don't need to handle repeated recoils and high heat.

But everything with magnification... it stand true.

Actually you can get away with a g&p aimpoint on a 22lr. On a real rifle your better off with a 700$ rifle with a 2k scope than a 2k rifle with a 700$ optic.

Fox the real interest on us optic scope are their durability. Ive seen them dragged behind. A jeep for a few hours and still hold their zero.

When I first started I used an Aimpoint clone, but then it crapped it on me so I bought a second one. I got fed up when that failed and I bought a RS ACOG (TA31F) and my gf bought me an EoTech. I have never looked back...

I'm running an ACM EoTech 552 and Huang Elcan C79 interchangeably on a C8. I used to have a Spectre DR, but I sold it to my friend when he got started in the sport. The EoTech's held up to the recoil of the GBBR, but for how long we'll see.

For backup, I have a Troy Battlesight.

Does anyone here own or knows someone that owns either a Thermal or Nightvision Scope?
