Looks like next year I will be running a Weapons check booth (coat check type thing)
Just to keep all this crap from getting worse

Zombies

I personally think that any of these guys are found out to be on the ASC they should be banned. They are so lucky that the cops didnt arrest them or worse.

ASC can't control what happen outside, besides there are dumber retards that exist within ASC

No but ASC can sure as hell make sure they dissociate themselves from these people.

Anybody can purchase airsoft without being on ASC.
Yesterday I met an airsofter that wasn't even aware that ASC exists...

I still maintain, that this isn't as bad as it seems. Yes they are douche bags for being so stupid as to publically display their rifles, and walk around with them. However, I don't see the main stream media yelling the sky is falling either, or we need stricter laws against airsoft. So this seems to be news only to us. The only recourse for this is people in their local area smacking them in the head and telling them to wake the fuck up, or ban them from local airsoft events until they grow a brain. Not everyone will hear of ASC, however those guys don't look like young punks either, and chances are someone knows them from these boards, maybe enough to give them a nudge in the right direction by saying WTF? You stupid? We can't police everything, but airsoft being a relatively small community you'll be surprised on who knows who. I just hope this doesn't happen again, but it most likely will.

Common sense is nowhere near as common as the name implies.

lurkingknight October 29th, 2011 19:10

I don't see how banning them from the community or games can solve anything, these are the types of foolish actions that belong to foolish people who would do stupid shit to begin with, with or without the community.

Now let's look on the bright side... it's not like they picked any old day of the week to do this by themselves, they went out with 300 other costumed people pretty much on free candy day. I'm not saying it was a good choice overall, but it could have been worse.

jerryman692 October 29th, 2011 19:14

Hey,

The police have made it point blank that if it looks real, its not allowed. Check in or not. I discussed that idea with them the first year, as it was requested. It will not only risk the event, but the person carrying it will be dealt with as well. Next year a policy will be put in place, if its not dollar store obvious fake, the person carrying it will be asked to put it in their car or leave. This is an unfortunate but necessary for our continued cooperation with the City.
