I'll let you know for sure in a week or so...got a couple new version of the Guarder frame coming(with supposedly better design that won't break as easily).

Stock KSC Glock 17 with metal slide. Just need to find a decently priced good tac flashlight.

Detonator's Trijicon-looking sight...no Tritium, but glow in the dark(like the stock or Dytac), steel machined....

Guarder frame installed(15 min), a bit longer to stipple the new frame....

The texture is slightly different to the TM and the hue is slightly different. The new version has the front post reinforced with a embedded metal bushing so you don't get crack initiation site on the thread in the plastic itself. Guarder supplied the new screws to use with the bushing. Will it hold up longer? Time will tell, my last Guarder frame did not stand up to the steel slide for long...also note the new mag catch, it is now a Guarder steel unit...

the trigger safety doesn't look to healthy to me.

Yeah, I rarely use it when I am actually playing. If I play with the safety on and put it in my drop leg holster, the first time I take it out of the holster, the safety will have flicked itself off. Which is a good thing, I guess?

Also, it's a bitch to put the safety on with short nails.

Qlong July 31st, 2010 15:41

The trigger safety is passive, you're not suppose to flick it back and forth.

hattrick July 31st, 2010 19:33

Its an aditional safety added by ksc on all of their glocks.
Very much like TM's underbarrel safety on the frame.

I'll snap a few shots of my CYMA 18C AEP tomorrow.

BadMrFrosty August 3rd, 2010 02:23

That's excellent news RM. Is there a major difference between the new Guarder frame and the previous iteration?

RacingManiac August 3rd, 2010 08:45

They redid the front screw post, now they embedded a metal insert in the plastic to maybe help prevent crack to initiate from the plastic in the thread. That partcular frame actually was not made very well...the metal insert was not molded in with sufficient material:

The Tan frame was fine. I ended up using some JB Weld to reinforce the post and the inner frame to outer plastic frame support....

We'll see how it holds, the stock G18C frame when I took it off already had crack on that post from maybe ~100 or so rounds through it(~50% full auto...lol), using propane and still on the plastic slide.

The stock TM frame for the Tan 17 was also cracked....the impact of the steel slide I guess...

I'll keep that in mind. It won't be easy to get the new gen Guarder Glock Frame so I'll have to figure something out when I put mine together.
